Disaster Recovery Test Coordinator – Exercise Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Maintain and revise Disaster Recovery runbooks, procedures, COOP plans, and contingency documentation.

• Ensure that all documentation complies with RMF control requirements, specifically within the Contingency Planning (CP) control family.

• Oversee version control, document history, naming conventions, and archival processes.

• Ensure that materials are compliant with 508 standards, accessible, and properly formatted.

• Assist with After Action Reviews (AARs), Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), DR test reports, and documentation related to DR readiness.

• Support audit and assessment teams by preparing and presenting evidence, diagrams, and documentation packages.

• Collaborate with continuity, engineering, cybersecurity, and database teams to gather updates and ensure technical accuracy.

• Manage content in shared repositories, documentation portals, and knowledge management systems.

• Monitor changes across systems and update documentation for new architectures, configurations, and processes.

• Create templates, style guides, and documentation standards for DR and COOP materials.

• Promote ongoing enhancement of documentation workflows, quality processes, and compliance alignment.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active Secret clearance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Assurance, Information Technology, Technical Writing, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing, DR documentation, compliance documentation, or IT governance.

• Experience in writing or maintaining COOP, DR, or RMF-related documentation.

• Experience in preparing control evidence, audit materials, or RMF artifacts.

• Experience collaborating with engineering and cybersecurity teams to confirm content accuracy.

• Proven experience in managing version-controlled documentation repositories.

• Strong grasp of DR, COOP, and contingency planning documentation requirements.

• Knowledge of RMF controls, particularly the CP (Contingency Planning) family.

• Familiarity with accessibility standards and 508-compliant formatting.

• Experience with ITIL v4 documentation and process alignment.

• Required ITIL v4 Foundation certification.

• Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.

• Capability to translate technical content into clear and structured documentation.

• Excellent organizational skills for managing document repositories and versioning.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional technical and compliance teams.

• Strong communication skills for coordinating audits and conducting documentation reviews.
