πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Conduct intake, screening, and needs assessments for disaster survivors utilizing approved tools and procedures.

β€’ Collaborate with survivors to create personalized recovery plans, set objectives, identify obstacles, and revise plans as necessary.

β€’ Identify, confirm, and facilitate access to federal, state, tribal, territorial, local, nonprofit, and community resources.

β€’ Offer referrals and follow-up assistance while guiding survivors through benefits, services, and recovery resources.

β€’ Implement the FEMA sequence of delivery to prevent benefit duplication.

β€’ Maintain contact with survivors and document their progress, needs, referrals, outcomes, and follow-up activities.

β€’ Manage case transfers, transitions, closures, file retention, and reporting responsibilities.

β€’ Ensure accurate case information is maintained in approved case management systems.

β€’ Safeguard Personally Identifiable Information (PII), survivor records, and Federal information while adhering to privacy, cybersecurity, records management, and behavioral standards.

β€’ Employ culturally responsive practices and provide support for individuals with disabilities and access or functional needs.

β€’ Acknowledge and adhere to reporting or referral procedures for trafficking, abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and financial exploitation.

β€’ Collaborate with resource coordinators, benefits navigators, supervisors, government representatives, community organizations, service providers, and mission partners.

β€’ Engage in readiness activities, training, exercises, briefings, debriefings, hotwashes, and continuous improvement initiatives.

β€’ Maintain deployment readiness and be prepared to deploy within specified timeframes to field, remote, or austere environments.

β€’ Deliver outstanding customer service by prioritizing the needs of children, families, Veterans, and clients.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field is preferred.

β€’ Equivalent relevant education and experience may be accepted according to organizational and contract position qualification criteria.

β€’ Preferred relevant experience includes case management, human services, crisis intervention, benefits/resource navigation, disaster recovery, or community-based services.

β€’ Strongly preferred: experience in disaster case management.

β€’ Professional fluency in a language other than English is highly desirable; American Sign Language may be required based on deployment needs.

β€’ Must complete necessary screening, background checks, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training, Rules of Behavior, and role-specific disaster human services case management training prior to accessing relevant Government systems or survivor records and before deployment.

β€’ Must finish NIMS courses IS-100.C, IS-200.C, IS-700.B, and IS-800.D before deployment.

β€’ Must maintain reliable availability while deployment-ready and work flexible schedules, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

β€’ Travel nationwide and deployment to disaster-impacted areas may be necessary.

β€’ Must be able to deploy within required contract timeframes, including the 48-hour surge requirement when applicable.

β€’ A valid Driver’s License with a clean record is required.

β€’ Must have daily access to a vehicle without prior notice.

β€’ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

β€’ Must successfully complete and maintain employment screening, criminal history checks, child-protection registry checks, federal background investigations, HSPD-12/PIV credentialing, and security and access requirements.
