This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Perform intake, screening, and needs assessments for disaster survivors utilizing approved tools and protocols.

• Create personalized recovery plans, set recovery objectives, identify obstacles, and revise plans as necessary.

• Identify, confirm, and coordinate resources from federal, state, tribal, territorial, local, nonprofit, and community organizations.

• Provide referrals to resources, follow up, and assist survivors in understanding and accessing benefits and services.

• Implement the FEMA sequence of delivery to prevent the duplication of benefits.

• Maintain communication with survivors and document their progress, needs, referrals, outcomes, and follow-up efforts.

• Carry out case transfer, transition, closure, file retention, and reporting tasks.

• Ensure accurate case information is maintained in approved case management systems.

• Safeguard Personally Identifiable Information (PII), survivor records, and federal data while adhering to privacy, cybersecurity, records management, and Rules of Behavior protocols.

• Employ culturally sensitive practices and support individuals with disabilities as well as those with access and functional needs.

• Identify and adhere to reporting or referral protocols concerning trafficking, abuse, violence, and financial exploitation issues.

• Collaborate with resource coordinators, benefits navigators, supervisors, government officials, community groups, service providers, and mission partners.

• Engage in preparedness activities, training, exercises, briefings, debriefings, hotwashes, and ongoing improvement initiatives.

• Remain ready for deployment and be prepared to work in field, remote, or challenging environments as assigned.

• Deliver outstanding customer service with a focus on children, families, Veterans, and clients.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field is preferred.

• Equivalent relevant education and experience may be accepted in line with organizational and contract position qualification standards.

• Preferred experience in case management, human services, crisis intervention, benefits/resource navigation, disaster recovery, or community-based services.

• Strong preference for candidates with disaster case management experience.

• Must complete mandatory screening, background checks, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training, Rules of Behavior compliance, and role-based disaster human services case management training before gaining access to relevant government systems or survivor records and prior to deployment.

• Completion of NIMS courses IS-100.C, IS-200.C, IS-700.B, and IS-800.D is required before deployment.

• Professional proficiency in a language other than English is highly desirable; American Sign Language may be necessary based on community needs.

• Must maintain consistent availability while deployment-ready, which may include variable schedules, extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required operationally.

• Ability to deploy within specified contract timeframes, including the 48-hour surge requirement when applicable.

• Willingness to travel nationwide and deploy to disaster-affected areas as needed.

• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.

• Must have access to a vehicle for daily use without prior notice.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion and maintenance of employment screening, criminal history checks, child protection registry checks, federal background investigation, HSPD-12/PIV credentialing, and security and access prerequisites are mandatory.
