This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Conduct intake, screening, and needs assessments for disaster survivors.
• Create personalized recovery plans and set attainable recovery objectives.
• Identify, verify, and coordinate resources from federal, state, tribal, territorial, local, nonprofit, and community sectors.
• Provide resource referrals, ensure follow-up, and assist survivors in navigating benefits and services.
• Implement the FEMA sequence of delivery to prevent benefit duplication.
• Maintain contact with survivors and document their progress, needs, referrals, outcomes, and follow-up actions.
• Complete case transfer, transition, and closure tasks, including file retention and reporting.
• Enter and update case information, assessments, recovery plans, referrals, forms, notes, and statistics in approved systems.
• Safeguard personally identifiable information, survivor records, and federal data.
• Utilize culturally responsive practices and support individuals with disabilities and those with access and functional needs.
• Recognize and adhere to reporting or referral protocols for trafficking, abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and financial exploitation.
• Collaborate with resource coordinators, benefits navigators, supervisors, government officials, community organizations, service providers, and mission partners.
• Engage in readiness activities, training, exercises, briefings, debriefings, hotwashes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain deployment readiness and work effectively in field, remote, or challenging environments.
• Exhibit exceptional customer service and prioritize the needs of survivors and clients.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Equivalent relevant education and experience may be considered per organizational and contract position qualification requirements.
• Relevant experience in case management, human services, crisis intervention, benefits/resource navigation, disaster recovery, or community-based services is preferred.
• Experience in disaster case management is strongly preferred.
• Professional spoken fluency in a language other than English is highly desirable; American Sign Language may be necessary based on affected communities.
• Must complete necessary screening, background investigation, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training, Rules of Behavior, and role-based disaster human services case management training prior to accessing applicable systems and deployment.
• Must complete NIMS courses IS-100.C, IS-200.C, IS-700.B, and IS-800.D before deployment.
• Must be reliably available for variable schedules, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays when operationally required.
• Must be able to deploy within required contract timeframes, including the 48-hour surge requirement when necessary.
• Nationwide travel and deployment to disaster-affected areas may be required.
• A valid Driver’s License with a clean record is necessary.
• Must have daily access to a vehicle without prior notice.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must successfully complete and maintain employment screening, criminal history checks, child-protection registry checks, federal background investigation, HSPD-12/PIV credentialing, and security and access requirements.
• Housing allowances and per diems provided upon deployment.
