This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Conduct intake, screening, and needs assessments for disaster survivors utilizing approved tools and procedures.
• Create personalized recovery plans, set recovery objectives, identify obstacles, and revise plans as necessary.
• Identify, verify, and coordinate resources from federal, state, tribal, territorial, local, nonprofit, and community sources.
• Provide resource referrals and follow-up; assist survivors in navigating benefits, services, and recovery options.
• Implement the FEMA sequence of delivery to prevent duplication of benefits.
• Maintain consistent communication with survivors and document progress, unresolved needs, referrals, outcomes, and follow-up actions.
• Complete activities related to case transfer, transition, and closure, including file retention and reporting.
• Ensure accurate case information, assessments, recovery plans, referrals, forms, notes, and statistics are maintained in approved case management systems.
• Safeguard PII, survivor records, and Federal information while adhering to privacy, confidentiality, cybersecurity, records-management, and Rules of Behavior guidelines.
• Employ culturally responsive practices and promote the inclusion of individuals with disabilities and access and functional needs.
• Recognize and adhere to reporting or referral protocols for human trafficking, abuse and neglect, domestic or intimate partner violence, and financial exploitation.
• Collaborate with resource coordinators, benefits navigators, supervisors, government representatives, community organizations, service providers, and mission partners.
• Engage in readiness initiatives, training, exercises, briefings, debriefings, hotwashes, and continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain readiness for deployment and be prepared to deploy within specified timeframes to field, remote, or austere locations.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by prioritizing children, families, Veterans, and clients.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Equivalent relevant education and experience may be considered as per organizational and contract position-qualification standards.
• Preferred relevant experience in case management, human services, crisis intervention, benefits/resource navigation, disaster recovery, or community-based services.
• Strongly preferred is prior disaster case management experience.
• Professional spoken proficiency in a language other than English is highly desirable; team language capabilities may encompass American Sign Language.
• Completion of required screening, background investigation, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training, Rules of Behavior, and role-based disaster human services case management training must occur before accessing applicable Government systems or survivor records and prior to deployment.
• NIMS courses IS-100.C, IS-200.C, IS-700.B, and IS-800.D must be completed prior to deployment.
• Must maintain reliable availability while being deployment ready and work flexible schedules, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays when operationally necessary.
• Nationwide travel and deployment to areas affected by disasters may be necessary.
• Ability to deploy within specified contract timelines, including the 48-hour surge requirement when applicable.
• A valid Driver’s License with a clean record is required.
• Daily access to a vehicle without prior notice is necessary.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion and maintenance of employment screening, criminal history checks, child protection registry checks, federal background investigation, HSPD-12/PIV credentialing, and compliance with security and access requirements is mandatory.
• Housing allowances and per diems are provided upon deployment.
• Reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities or sincerely held religious beliefs are available.
