This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.
• Conduct intake, screening, and needs assessments for disaster survivors utilizing approved tools and procedures.
• Create personalized recovery plans, set achievable recovery goals, identify obstacles, and revise plans as circumstances evolve.
• Identify, verify, and coordinate resources from federal, state, tribal, territorial, local, nonprofit, and community sources.
• Offer resource referrals and follow-ups; assist survivors in navigating benefits, services, and recovery options.
• Implement the FEMA sequence of delivery when relevant and support initiatives to prevent duplication of benefits.
• Maintain consistent communication with survivors and document their progress, unresolved needs, referrals, outcomes, and follow-up actions.
• Complete activities related to case transfer, transition, and closure, including file retention and reporting duties.
• Accurately enter and maintain case information, assessments, recovery plans, referrals, forms, notes, and statistics in approved case management systems.
• Safeguard PII, survivor records, and federal information while adhering to privacy, confidentiality, cybersecurity, records management, and Rules of Behavior standards.
• Employ culturally responsive practices and ensure the inclusion of individuals with disabilities and others with access and functional needs.
• Identify issues related to human trafficking, child or elder abuse and neglect, domestic or intimate partner violence, and post-disaster financial exploitation; adhere to reporting or referral protocols.
• Collaborate with resource coordinators, benefits navigators, supervisors, government officials, community organizations, service providers, and mission partners.
• Engage in readiness activities, training sessions, exercises, operational briefings, debriefings, hotwashes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure deployment readiness and be prepared to deploy within required timeframes to field, remote, or challenging environments.
• Deliver outstanding customer service with a focus on the child, family, Veteran, or client as the priority.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Equivalent relevant education and experience may be considered based on organizational and contract position qualification criteria.
• Preferred relevant experience includes case management, human services, crisis intervention, benefits/resource navigation, disaster recovery, or community-based services.
• Strongly preferred is experience in disaster case management.
• Professional spoken fluency in a language other than English is highly desirable; proficiency in American Sign Language may be required based on the needs of the impacted community.
• Completion of necessary screening, background checks, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training, Rules of Behavior, and role-specific disaster human services case management training is required prior to accessing government systems or survivor records, and before deployment.
• Must complete NIMS courses IS-100.C, IS-200.C, IS-700.B, and IS-800.D prior to deployment.
• Must maintain reliable availability while deployment-ready and be willing to work flexible hours, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Nationwide travel and deployment to disaster-affected areas may be necessary.
• Must be capable of deploying within required contract timeframes, including the 48-hour surge requirement when applicable.
• A valid Driver’s License with a clean record is required.
• Daily access to a vehicle without prior notice is necessary.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion and maintenance of employment screening, criminal history checks, child protection registry checks, federal background investigation, HSPD-12/PIV credentialing, and security and access requirements are mandatory.
• Housing allowances and per diems are provided upon deployment.
