This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Conduct intake assessments, screenings, and needs evaluations for disaster survivors utilizing approved tools and procedures.
• Create personalized recovery plans, set recovery objectives, identify obstacles, and revise plans as needs evolve.
• Identify, verify, and coordinate resources from federal, state, tribal, territorial, local, nonprofit, and community sources.
• Provide resource referrals, follow-up assistance, and help survivors navigate benefits and recovery options.
• Implement the FEMA sequence of delivery to prevent duplication of benefits.
• Maintain consistent contact with survivors and document their progress, needs, referrals, outcomes, and follow-up actions.
• Complete activities related to case transfer, transition, closure, file retention, and reporting.
• Accurately enter and manage case information in authorized case management systems.
• Safeguard personally identifiable information (PII), survivor records, and federal data while adhering to privacy, cybersecurity, records-management, and Rules of Behavior regulations.
• Employ culturally responsive practices and support individuals with disabilities and those with access and functional needs.
• Recognize and adhere to reporting or referral protocols for cases of trafficking, abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and post-disaster financial exploitation.
• Collaborate with resource coordinators, benefits navigators, supervisors, government officials, community organizations, service providers, and mission partners.
• Engage in readiness activities, training sessions, exercises, briefings, debriefings, hotwashes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain deployment readiness and be prepared to deploy within specified timeframes to field, remote, or austere locations.
• Exhibit outstanding customer service by prioritizing the needs of children, families, veterans, and clients.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Equivalent relevant education and experience may be considered in accordance with organizational and contract position qualification standards.
• Preferred relevant experience in case management, human services, crisis intervention, benefits/resource navigation, disaster recovery, or community-based services.
• Strongly preferred disaster case management experience.
• Professional spoken proficiency in a language other than English is highly desirable; deployments may necessitate team language capabilities, including American Sign Language.
• Must complete organizational and required screening, background checks, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training, Rules of Behavior, and role-based disaster human services case management training prior to gaining access to applicable systems or survivor records and deployment.
• Must complete NIMS courses IS-100.C, IS-200.C, IS-700.B, and IS-800.D prior to deployment.
• Must ensure reliable availability while being deployment ready and be able to work flexible schedules, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as operationally required.
• Nationwide travel and deployment to disaster locations may be necessary.
• Must be capable of deploying within required contract timeframes, including the 48-hour surge requirement when applicable.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean record is required.
• Must have daily access to a vehicle without prior notice.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must successfully complete and maintain employment screening, criminal history checks, child-protection registry checks, federal background investigations, HSPD-12/PIV credentialing, and security and access requirements.
• Housing allowances and per diem provided upon deployment.
