This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Perform intake, screening, and needs assessments for disaster survivors utilizing approved tools and methodologies.

• Create personalized recovery plans, set recovery objectives, identify obstacles, and revise plans as necessary.

• Locate, confirm, and coordinate resources from federal, state, tribal, territorial, local, nonprofit, and community sectors.

• Offer resource referrals and follow-up assistance; support survivors in navigating benefits, services, and recovery options.

• Implement the FEMA sequence of delivery and ensure efforts are made to prevent duplication of benefits.

• Maintain regular communication with survivors and document progress, unmet needs, referrals, outcomes, and follow-up actions.

• Complete activities related to case transfer, transition, closure, file retention, and reporting.

• Keep accurate records of case information, assessments, recovery plans, referrals, forms, notes, and statistics in approved systems.

• Safeguard Personally Identifiable Information (PII), survivor records, and federal information; adhere to privacy, cybersecurity, records management, and Rules of Behavior standards.

• Employ culturally sensitive practices and assist individuals with disabilities and others who have access and functional needs.

• Identify and adhere to reporting or referral protocols for human trafficking, abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and financial exploitation.

• Collaborate with resource coordinators, benefits navigators, supervisors, government officials, community organizations, service providers, and mission partners.

• Engage in readiness initiatives, training sessions, exercises, briefings, debriefings, hotwashes, and continuous improvement efforts.

• Maintain readiness for deployment and be prepared to operate in field, remote, or austere environments as assigned.

• Deliver outstanding customer service by prioritizing the needs of children, families, Veterans, and clients.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.

• Equivalent relevant education and experience may be considered based on organizational and contract position qualification standards.

• Preferred relevant experience in case management, human services, crisis intervention, benefits/resource navigation, disaster recovery, or community-based services.

• Strongly preferred experience in disaster case management.

• Professional fluency in a language other than English is highly desirable.

• Completion of required screening, background investigation, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training, Rules of Behavior, and role-based disaster human services case management training is mandatory before accessing applicable government systems or survivor records and prior to deployment as required.

• NIMS courses IS-100.C, IS-200.C, IS-700.B, and IS-800.D must be completed before deployment.

• Must be reliably available while deployment-ready and able to work flexible schedules, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as operationally needed.

• Nationwide travel and deployment to disaster-affected areas may be necessary.

• Ability to deploy within required contract timelines, including the 48-hour surge requirement when applicable.

• Possession of a valid Driver's License with a clean record.

• Daily access to a vehicle without prior notice is required.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States is mandatory.

• Successful completion and maintenance of employment screening, criminal history checks, child protection registry checks, federal background investigation, HSPD-12/PIV credentialing, and security and access requirements are required.
