This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Execute intake, screening, and needs assessments for disaster survivors using approved tools and methodologies.
• Create personalized recovery plans and set achievable recovery objectives with survivors.
• Identify, verify, and coordinate resources from federal, state, tribal, territorial, local, nonprofit, and community sources.
• Provide resource referrals, follow up, and assist survivors in navigating available benefits and services.
• Implement the FEMA sequence of delivery and support initiatives to prevent duplication of benefits.
• Maintain contact with survivors and document progress, needs, referrals, outcomes, and follow-up actions.
• Complete activities related to case transfer, transition, closure, file retention, and reporting.
• Ensure accurate case information is maintained within approved case management systems.
• Safeguard Personally Identifiable Information (PII), survivor records, and federal information while adhering to privacy, cybersecurity, records management, and Rules of Behavior requirements.
• Employ culturally sensitive practices and assist individuals with disabilities and those with access and functional needs.
• Identify and follow appropriate reporting or referral protocols for issues related to trafficking, abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and financial exploitation.
• Collaborate with resource coordinators, benefits navigators, supervisors, government officials, community organizations, service providers, and mission partners.
• Engage in readiness activities, training, exercises, briefings, debriefings, hotwashes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain deployment readiness and be prepared to deploy to field, remote, or austere environments as assigned.
• Deliver outstanding customer service while prioritizing the needs of children, families, Veterans, and clients.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Equivalent relevant education and experience may be evaluated in accordance with organizational and contract position qualification criteria.
• Preferred experience in case management, human services, crisis intervention, benefits/resource navigation, disaster recovery, or community-based services.
• Strong preference for candidates with disaster case management experience.
• Professional fluency in a language other than English is highly desirable.
• Completion of required screenings, background investigations, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training, Rules of Behavior, and role-based disaster human services case management training is mandatory before gaining system access and deployment.
• Must complete NIMS courses IS-100.C, IS-200.C, IS-700.B, and IS-800.D prior to deployment.
• Must ensure reliable availability and be willing to work variable schedules, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as operationally necessary.
• Ability to deploy within required timeframes, including the 48-hour surge requirement when applicable.
• Nationwide travel and deployment to disaster-affected areas may be necessary.
• A valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record is required.
• Daily access to a vehicle without prior notice is essential.
• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Successful completion and maintenance of employment screening, criminal history checks, child protection registry checks, federal background investigation, HSPD-12/PIV credentialing, and adherence to security and access requirements are mandatory.
