This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Long-term Disability case managers.
• Motivate the remote team to realize its potential through honest feedback.
• Approach complex claim challenges with innovative solutions.
• Build and nurture partnerships both internally and externally.
• Promote ongoing improvement while aligning with company values.
• Respond to critical issues promptly and comprehensively.
• Engage in various agile projects.
• Create and oversee case management plans for disability claims by considering multiple subjective factors.
• Coach and mentor Disability Case Managers, utilizing data insights to influence outcomes.
• Manage contentious and intricate claims, including all levels of appeals and various projects.
• Ensure compliance with service level agreements.
• Attend meetings with plan sponsors as necessary.
• Enhance customer relationships.
• At least 3 years of experience in Disability Claims.
• A university degree in Health Sciences or relevant experience is advantageous.
• Comprehensive knowledge of disability practices, procedures, and group benefits.
• Thorough understanding of medical terminology, management, and pharmacology.
• HIAA/ICA/LOMA designation or enrollment is beneficial.
• Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences.
• Experience in technical training and staff development.
• Prior experience in organizing and facilitating project work.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Capability to meet tight deadlines and perform under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal abilities.
