This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Provide strategic direction and operational management of Indero’s Vendor Management Office and enterprise vendor governance program.
• Create and consistently enhance the enterprise vendor governance framework, encompassing governance tiers, oversight models, decision rights, escalation pathways, standards, and tools.
• Lead vendor governance reviews and direct Vendor Steering Committee activities.
• Cultivate strategic relationships with essential vendors and preferred partners.
• Set vendor performance expectations, KPIs, service-level measures, and scorecards; track and report on performance and risks.
• Spearhead vendor remediation and continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis and CAPA plans.
• Manage vendor qualification, requalification, onboarding, ongoing oversight, and dequalification processes.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance on vendor audits, compliance activities, inspection readiness, and audit outcomes.
• Handle significant vendor escalations and monitor enterprise-level vendor risks.
• Analyze vendor spending, performance, capacity, and portfolio trends to aid sourcing, resource planning, and cost optimization.
• Contribute vendor strategy and subject matter expertise to proposals, bid defense, study planning, and business development efforts.
• Lead and mentor Vendor Managers, Clinical Procurement Specialists, and other VMO personnel.
• Enhance vendor-management capabilities through guidance, training, governance forums, and collaboration.
• Maintain vendor-management SOPs, tools, templates, processes, and training resources.
• Define and track VMO objectives, metrics, resource requirements, and budget considerations.
• Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business administration, supply chain, procurement, clinical research, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and/or contract research organization (CRO) sector.
• A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, including the management of direct and/or indirect reports.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing vendor governance, qualification, oversight, performance management, and risk-management frameworks.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial operations, vendor service delivery models, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), International Council for Harmonisation (ICH) guidelines, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Experience with vendor contracting, financial oversight, spend analysis, sourcing strategies, and performance metrics.
• Capability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders at all levels, including external partners.
• Exceptional leadership, negotiation, facilitation, communication, and relationship-management abilities.
• Strong analytical, strategic-thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving competencies.
• Excellent planning and time-management skills; adept at prioritizing competing demands in a dynamic environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in French is an asset.
• Must possess legal authorization to work in Canada.
