
Director, Strategic Partnerships – Digital Media Investment

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the daily operations and ongoing enhancement of Wpromote’s media investment division.
• Strategically manage agency budgets, partner obligations, and commercial contracts to optimize client value and enhance business outcomes.
• Report directly to the Vice President of Media Investment.
• Collaborate with leaders from Media, Commercial Strategy, Sales, Finance, Legal, Partnerships, and Revenue Operations.
• Supervise Joint Business Plans, upfront commitments, incentive programs, and strategic investment contracts.
• Develop infrastructure, reporting mechanisms, and processes to efficiently manage investment programs at scale.
• Craft investment strategies across key media partners.
• Provide investment and negotiation guidance based on agency expenditures, forecasting, client requirements, historical data, market dynamics, and partner opportunities.
• Handle agreements from negotiation through implementation, pacing, reconciliation, and value realization.
• Convert negotiated agreements into activation plans, ownership structures, and internal requirements.
• Create processes and controls for transparency into commitments, risks, opportunities, and value.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Commercial Strategy, and Revenue Operations on documentation, invoicing, reconciliation, and revenue recognition.
• Assist with priority pitches and RFPs under $50 million through media exercises, commercial analysis, and investment recommendations.
• Develop scalable tools, reports, documentation, operational standards, a deals library, and investment trackers.
• Propel automation and AI integration within reporting, forecasting, pacing, reconciliation, and opportunity identification.
• Establish reporting and success metrics linking investment activities to client value, partner performance, revenue, profitability, and value realization.
• Cultivate relationships throughout the media ecosystem and act as a senior internal resource on investment strategy and partner economics.
• Mentor peers and contribute to a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Potentially recruit, manage, and develop team members as the function expands.
• 6-8 years of experience in media investment, media buying, agency commercial strategy, or a related field.
• Experience preferably within a large agency, holding company, or sizable independent agency.
• Proven track record of managing substantial media investments across various channels.
• Experience in linear television, CTV, and streaming is highly regarded.
• Demonstrated ability in negotiating and managing agency-level upfronts, JBPs, spending commitments, incentive structures, and principal commercial contracts from activation to reconciliation.
• Strong understanding of traditional investment principles and the evolving media landscape, including programmatic buying, major platforms, retail media, and emerging channels.
• In-depth knowledge of investment economics, including forecasting, commitments, incentives, rebates, credits, added value, makegoods, margin impact, and value realization.
• Capability to leverage agency spending, commercial agreements, and partner relationships to generate additional value for clients and the agency.
• Strong analytical and financial skills.
• Experience in establishing scalable processes, reporting systems, and controls for a growing investment function.
• Excellent program management abilities.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to influence senior leaders, clients, partners, and cross-functional teams effectively.
• Capacity to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a complex organizational structure.
• Experience mentoring peers and managing team members as the function develops.
• Established connections within the media owner, platform, and advertising ecosystem are advantageous.
