Director, State Government Affairs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Assist in managing DaVita’s public policy initiatives at the state level within the Southeast Region.

• Evaluate state legislative and regulatory challenges and prospects.

• Implement strategies to achieve organizational objectives and goals.

• Create advocacy materials and resources for state policy campaigns and initiatives.

• Offer guidance and direction to senior management regarding public policy issues.

• Oversee external state lobbying teams, including engagement and monitoring of pertinent legislation and regulations.

• Develop and implement long-term strategic objectives for state public policy endeavors.

• Supervise the execution of public policy objectives.

• Collaborate with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and community organizations.

• Aid in formulating and executing political giving strategies.

• Report to the Senior Director of State Government Affairs and work in partnership with the broader DaVita State Government Affairs team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree is required.

• Over 10 years of experience in public policy and/or corporate government affairs within a state legislative or regulatory setting.

• Proven ability to independently spearhead significant state advocacy campaigns and initiatives.

• A background in health care policy is preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to manage multiple high-profile issues concurrently.

• Self-driven and motivated.

• Strong experience in public policy and government affairs.
