Director, Regulatory and Policy – MISO, SPP Markets

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Define regulatory and policy priorities that align with Calibrant's commercial goals.

β€’ Offer strategic insights on legislative and regulatory changes impacting distributed energy resources, storage solutions, and large-load clients.

β€’ Spearhead engagement with ISO/RTO market committees, utilities, and stakeholders in MISO and SPP.

β€’ Keep track of market rule changes, regulatory initiatives, and state policies, translating them into practical business advice.

β€’ Act as Calibrant's representative in stakeholder meetings, industry committees, technical conferences, and trade associations.

β€’ Advocate for regulatory and policy results that foster business expansion, project development, and customer solutions.

β€’ Coordinate efforts with consultants, lobbyists, and external advisors.

β€’ Collaborate with Market Development, Project Delivery, Market Operations, and Commercial teams.

β€’ Engage with utilities, transmission owners, ISOs/RTOs, and state regulators to promote projects and address regulatory challenges.

β€’ Create business cases, position papers, comments, and regulatory submissions.

β€’ Identify regulatory risks and opportunities, communicating their implications to leadership.

β€’ Support community, customer, and stakeholder engagement related to infrastructure and energy initiatives.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Over 5 years of experience in energy policy, regulatory affairs, market strategy, or a related discipline.

β€’ Familiarity with ISO/RTO market structures and regulatory frameworks within the electricity sector.

β€’ Direct involvement in MISO and SPP markets.

β€’ Experience in distributed energy resources, battery storage, or servicing large-load clients.

β€’ Participation in ISO/RTO market committees is essential.

β€’ Proven experience in drafting regulatory submissions.

β€’ Experience in monitoring legislative changes.

β€’ Ability to articulate complex regulatory issues to business and executive audiences to guide business strategy.

β€’ Proven skills in stakeholder engagement, coalition-building, and advocacy.

β€’ A Bachelor’s degree is required.

β€’ An advanced degree is preferred.
