This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Raising Child Care Fund.
• Spearhead fundraising initiatives and enhance RCCF's philanthropic network.
• Direct RCCF's grantmaking approach, focusing on geographic priorities, organizational capacity, and equitable investments.
• Build trusted relationships with grantee partners and collaborate with national, state, and local stakeholders.
• Ensure that grantee insights shape strategy and grantmaking processes.
• Develop and implement a fundraising plan aimed at financial sustainability and expanded support from funders.
• Nurture and manage relationships with current and prospective funders.
• Identify funding opportunities, draft proposals, and oversee reporting and commitments to funders.
• Facilitate funder engagement and educate on grassroots organizing, power building, and equitable grantmaking practices.
• Manage RCCF's budget and financial resources in collaboration with the ECFC Executive Director, TSNE fiscal staff, and the evolving governance framework.
• Convert strategic priorities into funding and grantmaking decisions.
• Lead RCCF staff and consultants by establishing priorities, assessing capacity requirements, and optimizing team resources.
• Connect philanthropy with grassroots movements to foster learning, collaboration, and aligned action.
• Craft communications and narratives that highlight grantee efforts and showcase the impact of sustained investment in organizing.
• Forge partnerships with local, state, and national movement and advocacy organizations.
• Share RCCF's experiences with ECFC’s broader initiatives through member learning, consultations, convenings, and field representation.
• Participate in travel approximately 10–15% for funder and partner meetings, conferences, and other relevant activities.
• Extensive leadership experience in navigating complex organizations, partnerships, or movements.
• Profound knowledge of grassroots organizing, power building, advocacy, and public policy.
• Background in child care or a related field or movement; relevant adjacent experience is also considered acceptable.
• Proven track record in cultivating philanthropic relationships and securing substantial private funding for advocacy, organizing, policy, or movement-building efforts.
• Capability to present a compelling case for investment and build relationships with funders across various issue areas and priorities.
• Strong coalition leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in establishing trust and collaborating with funders, organizers, advocates, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
• Familiarity with grantmaking, pooled funds, philanthropic collaboratives, and/or collaborative governance.
• Understanding of equitable methods for resourcing state and community organizations.
• Strategic leadership expertise in dynamic, complex environments.
• Ability to navigate uncertainty, make informed decisions, guide stakeholders through transitions, and translate strategy into actionable steps.
• Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.
• Proficient in synthesizing insights across partners and communicating effectively with diverse audiences.
• Commitment to ECFC and RCCF's mission and values, including racial equity, shared power, transparency, learning, and respect for community expertise.
• Capability to maintain a home office that supports productive work and virtual meetings.
• Availability to work primarily between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, with regular availability between noon and 5:00 p.m. ET.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
