Director, Quality Engineering – Assurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement Dark Matter's comprehensive Quality Engineering strategy across the enterprise.

• Create a long-term roadmap aimed at enhancing quality maturity, expanding automation, and achieving engineering excellence.

• Foster a culture where quality accountability is embraced by every engineering team.

• Set quality standards, governance frameworks, and operational metrics throughout the organization.

• Oversee enterprise-wide automation projects covering functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.

• Promote the use of AI-assisted quality engineering and intelligent testing capabilities.

• Build scalable performance, load, stress, and resiliency testing frameworks.

• Define executive quality scorecards and operational reporting mechanisms.

• Communicate quality trends and recommendations to executive leadership.

• Direct root cause analysis initiatives and defect-prevention strategies.

• Create a roadmap for integrating AI-assisted software quality practices.

• Set release certification standards to guarantee high-quality deployments.

• Lead teams comprising managers, architects, automation specialists, performance engineers, quality engineers, and analysts.

• Establish a high-performing global Quality Engineering organization.

• Outline career paths, succession plans, and leadership development opportunities.

• Attract and retain top technical talent.

• Collaborate with Product Management, Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Product Operations, Professional Services, and Client Success teams.

• Ensure that quality is a measurable and predictable outcome, rather than just a concluding testing activity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in software quality, quality engineering, or engineering leadership roles.

• More than 8 years of experience managing large QA or Quality Engineering teams.

• Demonstrated experience overseeing quality across enterprise SaaS platforms.

• Profound knowledge of Test Automation, Performance Engineering, Release Engineering, Quality Governance, modern CI/CD methodologies, and Agile development practices.

• Proven track record in establishing and scaling automation-first organizations.

• Excellent executive communication and leadership capabilities.

• Experience in presenting quality metrics and operational performance data to executive leadership.

• Preferred: experience in mortgage technology, financial services, fintech, banking technology, or regulated software environments.

• Preferred: experience in leading distributed global teams.

• Preferred: practical knowledge of AI-assisted software testing methodologies.

• Preferred: experience in supporting large-scale cloud-native platforms.
