This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Establish and oversee a centralized shared services QA organization located in India, covering five product verticals.
• Define the target operating model, team structure, roles, and framework for service delivery.
• Design and implement governance, service level agreements (SLAs), demand management, capacity planning, and resource allocation processes.
• Establish unified quality standards, policies, methodologies, and best practices.
• Own the QA roadmap and advocate for shift-left quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Directly manage and mentor offshore QA Managers in India and their respective QA Analyst teams.
• Build high-performing teams through hiring, onboarding, mentoring, career development, and skill enhancement programs.
• Establish effective communication and collaboration practices between India-based teams and stakeholders in the US and Canada.
• Drive key performance indicators (KPIs), reporting schedules, engagement, and change management during team consolidation.
• Develop and implement AI-augmented quality engineering and intelligent automation initiatives.
• Evaluate and govern AI-assisted testing tools while establishing standards for responsible use.
• Architect standardized test automation frameworks utilizing Playwright or similar tools.
• Integrate automated testing into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and promote reusable components and utilities.
• Lead enterprise-wide adoption of the Aqua test case management platform.
• Oversee testing strategies, plans, cases, and execution across functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Define performance testing strategies and supervise load, stress, soak, and spike testing.
• Establish performance baselines, SLA thresholds, entry and exit criteria, and standards for release readiness.
• Align QA activities with Scrum and DevOps methodologies using Jira.
• Represent QA in client-facing discussions, communicating quality risks, timelines, and mitigation strategies.
• Report on the status of the QA program, shared services metrics, and roadmap updates to executives and clients.
• Own enterprise accessibility testing and ensure compliance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
• Define accessibility standards and tools, integrate checks into CI/CD, and oversee audits and remediation efforts.
• Maintain Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs) for each product.
• Define enterprise QA metrics and promote continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, documentation, and communities of practice.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
• 5+ years in a senior leadership or director-level role.
• Proven experience in building and leading a centralized shared services QA organization, preferably in India; this is a critical requirement.
• Experience in designing operating models, defining team structures, establishing SLAs, managing demand, and cross-vertical service delivery.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale offshore QA teams in India.
• Deep understanding of the Indian talent market, engagement models, communication strategies, cultural nuances, and performance management across time zones.
• A track record of consolidating fragmented or siloed QA functions into a cohesive organization with standardized processes and tools.
• Experience leveraging AI and emerging technologies to transform QA practices.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools, intelligent test generation, and predictive quality analytics.
• Hands-on experience with modern test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
• Experience implementing an enterprise test case management platform.
• Experience leading WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility testing programs.
• Familiarity with accessibility tools, audits, and remediation workflows.
• Experience defining and implementing performance and load testing strategies, including tools such as k6, Locust, or JMeter, and CI/CD integration.
• Deep expertise in shift-left testing and embedding quality into early phases of the SDLC.
• Strong proficiency with Jira for defect tracking and QA workflow management.
• Ability to communicate and engage effectively with clients, executive stakeholders, and cross-functional teams across different geographies.
• Strong comprehension of Scrum and DevOps/CI/CD practices.
• Exceptional skills in change management and organizational development.
• Willingness and ability to travel to India periodically, estimated at 15–20%.
• Preferred: experience in enterprise SaaS, government technology, or multi-vertical software products.
• Preferred: familiarity with government technology domains.
• Preferred: experience in setting up and operating GCC or shared services centers.
• Preferred: ISTQB Advanced or Expert certification or an equivalent qualification.
