This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Direct and oversee the pricing strategy, planning, and execution for DIRECTV’s residential video offerings.
• Manage a team of three pricing professionals.
• Supervise annual price adjustments, acquisition and standard pricing, promotional roll-offs, new package pricing, ancillary fees, and other customer billing modifications.
• Set standards for business cases and pricing governance, balancing revenue, margin, acquisitions, churn, and long-term customer value.
• Create pricing roadmaps and spearhead complex initiatives from strategic assessment to implementation and performance evaluation.
• Lead annual and in-year price management, focusing on strategy, modeling, recommendations, execution, timing, magnitude, sequencing, and customer allocation.
• Maintain a comprehensive roadmap of customer billing changes and manage operational dependencies and churn risks.
• Oversee pricing architecture for packages, genre packs, add-ons, premium services, hardware, and portfolio elements.
• Assess pricing for new packages, products, features, services, and significant revenue or cost-recovery factors.
• Track competitive pricing, promotional strategies, package composition, and perceived value.
• Analyze pricing constructs, elasticity, roll-off behavior, and margin effects.
• Develop and manage financial models, business cases, scenarios, and sensitivity analyses.
• Evaluate post-launch performance against approved business cases.
• Establish pricing governance, approval processes, decision rights, and documentation standards.
• Coordinate proposed recurring or one-time customer billing modifications.
• Present pricing strategies and recommendations to senior and executive leadership.
• Lead, mentor, and develop pricing analysts and specialists.
• Define team roles, priorities, performance expectations, and development plans.
• Foster cross-functional partnerships and ensure accountability for pricing recommendations and results.
• Significant experience in pricing strategy, revenue management, product strategy, or a related field, preferably in subscription, telecommunications, media, entertainment, or another recurring-revenue business.
• Proven experience in executing large-scale price changes from initial strategy and financial modeling to implementation and performance assessment.
• Strong grasp of subscription pricing structures, including introductory pricing, standard rates, promotional guarantees, roll-offs, fees, discounts, and everyday pricing.
• Experience in evaluating pricing for new products or packages and managing pricing relationships within a multi-product portfolio.
• Advanced skills in financial modeling and business case development.
• Strong understanding of revenue, margin, churn, acquisition, customer lifetime value, and P&L implications.
• Ability to convert complex analyses into straightforward recommendations, decisions, and executive-level presentations.
• Capacity to identify execution risks and coordinate intricate initiatives across Finance, Product, Marketing, Technology, Billing, Sales, Care, Legal, and Communications.
• Strong knowledge of pricing analytics, competitive intelligence, customer segmentation, elasticity, and post-launch performance assessment.
• Experience in establishing governance processes, analytical standards, and decision-making frameworks.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to develop high-performing analytical teams.
• Excellent judgment and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity, independently set priorities, and execute a multi-month strategic roadmap with minimal oversight.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, marketing, analytics, or a related field.
• May require a background check due to regular access to DIRECTV and DIRECTV customer proprietary data.
• Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered in accordance with local ordinances and state law.
• Must reside in the United States, excluding Alaska.
• Travel requirements are less than 5% (approximately twice a year to Los Angeles, CA).
