This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +3 more states.
• Take ownership of the comprehensive product management responsibilities across the Files/Natives, Ontology/Relationship, Data Capabilities, Knowledge/Metadata, and Query Plane engineering divisions.
• Establish storage primitives, service level agreements (SLAs), access contracts, and API interfaces for legal documents, images, native files, integrations, and AI workflows.
• Shape the Ontology of Relativity, encompassing entities, relationships, and contracts that create a shared vocabulary for legal data.
• Manage reporting, auditing, and internal data infrastructure to enhance the platform's observability, auditability, and explainability.
• Advance the unified materialized document layer for AI application teams, users, customers, and integration partners.
• Lead the roadmap for the Query Plane, which includes standardized ingestion APIs, hybrid lexical and vector retrieval with reranking, managed chunking, and tiered storage.
• Set the operational rhythm, forum structure, planning cadence, and decision-making frameworks for a multi-pillar product management organization.
• Promote the adoption of the Foundational Layer among Relativity product teams and evaluate the internal platform's value.
• Develop product management capabilities through coaching, recruitment, leveling, and product-practice enhancement.
• Influence cross-functional teams without direct authority by leveraging clarity, evidence, and trust.
• Make decisions amid uncertainty and adjust direction as engineering teams establish platform primitives.
• Engage as a technical peer in conversations with engineering leaders.
• Over 12 years of experience in product management.
• More than 5 years of experience leading platform or infrastructure product management teams.
• Profound understanding of data platform primitives, including storage systems, metadata layers, knowledge graphs, query engines, or similar.
• Capability to design an API contract, contribute to engineering scope decisions, and articulate trade-offs related to data consistency models.
• Proven ability to recruit, level, and build a product management team while establishing product practices within a new domain.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or Design, or equivalent professional experience.
• Engineering credibility and the ability to engage as a peer in technical discussions with engineering leaders.
• Experience at companies where the data platform serves as the product, such as Snowflake, Databricks, Elastic, MongoDB, Palantir, or similar.
• Background in building for AI systems, agents, or machine learning pipelines as primary consumers.
• Ability to establish an organizational cadence for a multi-pillar product management structure.
• Skill in driving internal adoption of platform services and assessing their value.
• Capacity to coach and scale a product management organization.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
• Proficient in making informed decisions with limited information and adjusting them as necessary.
• Legal domain expertise is not mandatory, but a grasp of defensibility, chain of custody, and auditability is anticipated.
