Director, Product Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and implement the product vision for Runpod’s AI cloud platform.

• Oversee the complete product lifecycle for serverless endpoints, GPU instances (Pods), AI foundational services, developer APIs, and the user experience as a whole.

• Build and lead a high-performing product and design team.

• Establish the long-term vision and short-term roadmap for Runpod’s product offerings.

• Anticipate the needs of the AI/ML ecosystem and position Runpod as a top choice for infrastructure.

• Spend considerable time collaborating with ML engineers, AI startups, and enterprise clients to identify friction points, gather requirements, and validate feature concepts.

• Recruit, mentor, and develop product managers, UI/UX designers, and technical writers.

• Foster a culture of high standards, user empathy, and rapid iteration.

• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Engineering, and GTM leadership.

• Ensure that roadmaps are technically feasible, reliable, and delivered punctually.

• Transform complex infrastructure capabilities into seamless developer experiences.

• Define pricing models for compute, storage, and serverless usage.

• Guide product marketing on positioning and launch strategies.

• Establish metrics-driven product management utilizing analytics, churn data, and customer feedback.

• Prioritize the backlog to maximize business impact.

• Advocate for the developer experience across the console, CLI, APIs, and SDKs.

• Ensure that products are intuitive, well-documented, and minimize time-to-value for new users.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of product management experience.

• At least 3 years in a leadership role managing other PMs and designers in a high-growth environment.

• Extensive experience in building SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, or developer-oriented products.

• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, GPUs, Kubernetes, and AI/ML workflows.

• Ability to engage deeply with engineering and infrastructure leaders.

• Knowledge of modern backend architectures, API design, and distributed systems.

• Proven ability to turn complex, ambiguous challenges into successful, launched products with measurable business results.

• Experience in fostering culture, alignment, and momentum across distributed technical and commercial teams.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Successful completion of a background check.

• Direct experience launching products for MLOps, model training, serverless inference, or LLM deployment (preferred).

• Strong public presence or active involvement with AI/ML and open-source developer communities (preferred).

• Previous experience as a software engineer, ML engineer, or data scientist before moving into product management (preferred).

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
