Director, Product Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Lead and implement the multi-year product roadmap along with the New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle, from concept through to launch and ongoing support.

• Supervise product verification, validation, and regulatory compliance, which includes testing, certifications, and adherence to established quality standards.

• Oversee sustaining engineering activities, including product changes (PCNs/ECOs), aimed at optimizing cost, enhancing product performance, and managing the product lifecycle effectively.

• Collaborate across various functions such as Product, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Sourcing, QA, and Executive Leadership to fulfill roadmap commitments.

• Manage and develop teams involved in product development and product verification, which includes resource planning and budget oversight.

• Provide exceptional customer support and ensure prompt resolution of critical issues.

• Create scalable processes to enhance time-to-market, product quality, and operational efficiency.

• Propel data-driven decision-making by utilizing analytics and AI tools to uncover opportunities and address complex product challenges.

• Interact periodically with end customers to gain insights on pain points and translate these insights into product enhancements.

• Establish and monitor KPIs related to NPI execution, product success, quality, and lifecycle performance.

• Report directly to the VP of Product Development.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in product development and/or an engineering environment.

• Strong proficiency in managing the end-to-end product development lifecycle within IT hardware, electronics, or hardware/firmware sectors.

• Demonstrated experience with regulatory compliance, product testing, and quality standards.

• Robust data analytics skills and experience in employing AI tools for informed decision-making.

• In-depth knowledge of IT hardware, electronics manufacturing, or related industries.

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and exert influence at the executive level.

• Experience in managing complex global supply chains and vendor relationships.

• A strong history of improving time-to-market, product quality, and cost efficiency.

• Familiarity with global regulatory frameworks and compliance environments.

• Business acumen, including expertise in business case development and commercial decision-making.

• Preferred experience with PLM systems, PIM tools, and product verification/testing platforms.
