This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +7 more states.
• Develop and implement strategic business development initiatives to enhance revenue growth and increase market presence.
• Oversee a substantial portfolio of client and prospect accounts, acting as the strategic account manager and relationship lead.
• Identify and engage in new business opportunities through research, networking, and outreach efforts.
• Participate in internal strategy sessions, educational meetings, and planning discussions.
• Collaborate with leaders from various service lines, marketing teams, and executive management.
• Mentor, coach, and develop members of the Practice Development team.
• Recognize client and prospect tax-related issues, challenges, and objectives.
• Draft Statements of Work (SOWs) and proposals that clearly convey client requirements and DMA’s value proposition.
• Collaborate with legal advisors during contract negotiations to ensure adherence to internal procedures.
• Maintain precise and prompt updates in the CRM system and share key developments with internal stakeholders.
• Deliver project and relationship management to guarantee client satisfaction and retention.
• Allocate approximately 90% of the role to sales-driven activities and 10% to supporting the broader Business Development team.
• After around two years, routinely generate $3–5 million in annual production through new business development and account growth.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Accounting, or a related discipline is required.
• 4-5 years of professional experience in business development, ideally within tax, financial, or consulting services.
• At least 1 year in a leadership capacity.
• Proven success in managing client relationships and driving revenue growth.
• Strong understanding of CRM systems, sales KPIs, and pipeline management.
• Familiarity with tax law concepts and the capability to translate client needs into customized solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to build internal relationships and work collaboratively across functions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical thinking, initiative, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective organizational leadership and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
• Regular 40-hour work week.
• Up to 35% travel may be necessary.
• Ability to hear, understand, and differentiate speech and sounds.
• Frequent repetitive hand motions are required.
