This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the People technology ecosystem and roadmap, which includes HRIS architecture, governance, integrations, access, vendor performance, and ongoing enhancements.
• Spearhead the planned HRIS modernization, encompassing requirements gathering, data migration, configuration, testing, training, rollout, and user adoption.
• Ensure scalable People workflows, controls, self-service options, and dependable downstream data.
• Manage People data integrity, governance, data-quality controls, dashboards, and self-service reporting.
• Direct payroll capabilities and oversee the accuracy, controls, documentation, audit readiness, and resolution of issues.
• Supervise and develop the payroll team member responsible for daily payroll operations.
• Establish payroll review and escalation processes within People and Finance.
• Manage the operational infrastructure for onboarding, offboarding, employment changes, contractor lifecycle processes, I-9/E-Verify, and Employer of Record operations.
• Lead and support Benefits & Compliance capabilities, including vendor partnerships and compliance operations.
• Mentor team members and cultivate a sustainable functional capability through systems, partners, automation, and role clarity.
• Identify and reengineer manual workflows utilizing AI, automation, exception detection, workflow orchestration, and self-service options.
• Assess and iterate on workflow enhancements focusing on capacity, speed, accuracy, control, and employee/manager experience.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, Security, Legal, Talent, and People leadership on systems, compliance, reporting, operational risk, and decision-making.
• 8–12+ years of progressive experience in People Operations, HRIS, HR technology, payroll operations, or related fields, with senior ownership of complex operational environments.
• Proven experience in leading a significant HRIS implementation or transformation.
• Direct experience with Rippling is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, including controls, multi-state considerations, audits, exceptions, and the correlation between upstream HRIS data and payroll accuracy.
• Experience in leading and developing operational team members while establishing clear accountability across functions.
• Strong systems and data orientation in process architecture, data quality, reporting, integrations, controls, and practical execution.
• Proven track record of redesigning workflows through automation, AI, self-service, or technology.
• Comfortable using AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude for daily problem-solving, analysis, and workflow design.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in spreadsheet applications.
• Sound judgment and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate across Finance, IT, Security, Legal, Talent, and senior People leadership.
