Director of Supply & Demand

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Take charge of marketplace dynamics involving pricing, Pro incentives, supply planning, matching, and Service Completion Rate.

• Formulate pricing strategies for instant quotes, manual quotes, dynamic pricing, and pricing experiments.

• Create and evaluate Pro incentives in the field and develop supply planning tools tailored to specific markets and services.

• Establish forecasting, monitoring, and operational rhythms for seasonal supply and demand.

• Collaborate with the Product team to enhance matching and job distribution processes.

• Identify market constraints related to pricing, incentives, planning, matching, and supply.

• Develop AI-driven systems and agentic tools utilizing LawnStarter's Brain toolkit.

• Spearhead cross-functional initiatives with Product, Growth, Finance, and Operations teams.

• Manage outcomes from start to finish, including recommendations, execution, experimentation, and measurement.

• Report directly to the COO as an individual contributor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience with the complex dynamics of a two-sided marketplace.

• Proven track record of managing dynamic pricing, quoting, or yield decisions that have P&L implications.

• Capability to independently create forecasting and incentive-elasticity models.

• Proficiency in building agentic systems, agents, evaluations, context engineering, and guardrails.

• Knowledge of frontier AI and the ability to swiftly implement new capabilities.

• Skill in collaboratively driving strategy across functions without formal authority.

• Strong focus on execution and ownership from recommendation through to implementation.

• A degree in analytics, business, or a related field, or at least 7 years of experience in marketplace supply and demand, operations, or similar roles.
