Director of Supply Chain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mississippi.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement enterprise-level supply chain sourcing and category management strategies for both direct and indirect spending categories.

• Sustain the enterprise Approved Supplier Lists, sourcing standards, and category strategies across all Centers of Excellence.

• Oversee supplier selection processes, conduct commercial negotiations, finalize supplier agreements, and establish strategic commercial arrangements.

• Keep track of commodity markets, supplier capacity, tariffs, and industry developments.

• Manage supplier performance metrics, including on-time delivery, quality assurance, responsiveness, capacity, and commercial outcomes.

• Set up supplier qualification, onboarding, and compliance criteria.

• Create supplier scorecards and performance review mechanisms.

• Initiate corrective actions, facilitate supplier development, conduct audits, and promote continuous improvement initiatives.

• Assist in supplier capacity planning, readiness, and supply continuity efforts.

• Formulate sourcing policies, standards, governance processes, and supplier compliance guidelines.

• Oversee supplier risk management processes, including assessments, single-source exposure analysis, business continuity planning, and risk mitigation strategies.

• Provide strategic advice to the VP of Supply Chain and executive leadership on sourcing strategies, supplier performance, supplier quality, material productivity, inventory management, working capital, and strategic supplier initiatives.

• Cultivate relationships with COE Presidents and senior leaders across Finance, Legal, Human Resources, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Digital Transformation.

• Lead executive supplier interactions, conduct Quarterly Business Reviews, handle negotiations, address escalations, and initiate strategic supplier relationship initiatives.

• Prepare high-level reports, analyses, and presentations for operational reviews and executive forums.

• Manage reporting, governance, supplier engagement, scorecards, improvement plans, category strategies, sourcing governance, negotiations, supplier consolidation, inventory, and working capital initiatives.

• Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, professional development, succession planning, and talent development opportunities for Supply Chain professionals.

• Set performance expectations and ensure accountability across sourcing, supplier quality, supplier performance, supplier risk, and category management functions.

• Operate in an office environment while frequently visiting the production floor to oversee operations, compliance, safety standards, and staff engagement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field is mandatory.

• An advanced degree is preferred.

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, commodity management, or supply chain leadership within manufacturing or engineered products settings.

• Proficient in developing and executing enterprise sourcing and category management strategies across multiple sites, business units, or product lines.

• Experience in negotiating complex commercial agreements, long-term supply contracts, supplier partnerships, and risk-sharing arrangements.

• Proven track record in leading supplier performance enhancement initiatives concerning quality, delivery, capacity, responsiveness, and cost.

• Demonstrated success in achieving material productivity, cost reduction, value engineering, and supplier rationalization initiatives.

• Strong expertise in supplier quality systems, supplier development methodologies, contract governance, and supply risk management.

• Experience in building relationships with executive-level suppliers and conducting supplier business reviews.

• Capable of working effectively within multi-site, matrixed, and growth-focused organizations.

• Advanced negotiation skills, supplier relationship management capabilities, and commercial leadership experience.

• Solid financial understanding, including cost modeling, total cost of ownership analysis, savings validation, and margin impact assessment.

• Ability to devise and implement enterprise sourcing and supplier management strategies that align with business goals and growth objectives.

• Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making capabilities.

• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and foster alignment without direct organizational authority.

• Excellent executive communication, presentation, supplier, and executive engagement skills.

• Proven capability to lead supplier performance improvement initiatives and manage complex supplier relationships.

• High level of accountability, business judgment, and follow-through.

• Ability to function effectively in dynamic, fast-paced, and growth-oriented environments.

• Physical ability to navigate around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
