Director of Shorts

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creative development process for SolarBalls Shorts from initial concept to final publication.

• Convert educational and entertainment concepts into captivating short-form animated content.

• Direct production aspects, including pacing, timing, storytelling, visual humor, and overall execution.

• Collaborate with animators, editors, and designers to ensure the delivery of high-quality Shorts.

• Innovate new formats for Shorts and explore creative experiments.

• Evaluate content performance and utilize data to enhance future Shorts.

• Assist in building and scaling the dedicated Shorts production team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in directing animated content, ideally for YouTube.

• Previous experience in leading creative or animation teams.

• Strong understanding of YouTube content strategies, audience behaviors, and content optimization techniques.

• Experience in creating or directing original short-form content, or a solid grasp of the creative principles that contribute to successful Shorts.

• Strong instincts in visual storytelling, including pacing, comedic timing, and engaging animation techniques.

• Familiarity with Moho animation pipelines.

• Experience in providing creative direction and actionable feedback to animators, scriptwriters, illustrators, editors, and other creative collaborators.

• Ability to balance creative quality with production efficiency and adhere to deadlines.

• Preferred: Experience in creating content specifically for YouTube as opposed to traditional film or television.

• Preferred: Experience in creating or directing high-performing or viral animated Shorts.

• Preferred: Knowledge of animation production workflows and pipeline management.

• Preferred: Experience collaborating with teams focused on thumbnail, packaging, and creative optimization.

• Preferred: Comfort in using performance data and audience insights to guide creative decisions and refine content.
