This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Define and establish the sales force for a new lifestyle brand focused on furniture, mirrors, and lighting.
• Take ownership of the comprehensive sales strategy and go-to-market approach for the brand's launch.
• Serve as the brand's initial and primary salesperson while developing the wider sales organization.
• Personally manage and expand the largest and most significant accounts.
• Identify, pursue, and onboard new accounts.
• Recruit, hire, train, and oversee sales personnel and/or independent sales representative groups.
• Set sales targets and quotas, monitor performance, and ensure accountability within the sales organization.
• Create sales initiatives for major and regional furniture stores, independent retailers, and interior designers.
• Act as the main spokesperson for the brand.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Product Development, and Merchandise Planning to enhance growth and profitability.
• Recognize sales trends and manage sales collateral.
• Compare brand programs with competitors and suggest improvements.
• Formulate strategies for slow-moving inventory.
• Coordinate inventory requirements with Merchandise Planning.
• Develop and oversee sales budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
• Establish territory and account assignment strategies.
• Design and implement sales compensation, commission, and incentive structures.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on go-to-market and growth strategies.
• Provide regular sales performance updates and insights to executive leadership.
• Represent the company at trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
• Over 10 years of progressive sales experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience within the furniture industry.
• Proven experience in building and leading sales teams.
• Demonstrated hands-on, hunter-style sales success in sourcing, selling, and closing new business.
• Background in creating a sales organization from the ground up.
• Experience in structuring teams and/or independent sales representative networks.
• Knowledge in designing sales compensation, commission, and incentive plans.
• Strong financial skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and sales and margin analysis.
• In-depth understanding of national retail buying cycles, merchandising strategies, and account management practices.
• Exceptional skills in negotiation, presentation, and relationship building.
• Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to transform data into actionable insights.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
• Willingness to travel frequently for customer meetings, markets, and trade shows.
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Proficient in computer applications, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
