This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the pricing and procurement strategy for Northstar's Commodity Sales team.
• Supervise and guide CMS Strategists.
• Enhance working capital by negotiating and optimizing outlet payment and commercial terms.
• Develop team expertise in pricing strategy and commercial analysis.
• Create and sustain pricing strategies and guidelines across various commodity lines.
• Track commodity market indices, outlet expenses, and competitive trends.
• Collaborate with Sales and Client Services to establish pricing models and guardrails for proposals, renewals, and contract structures.
• Ensure client contract terms are aligned with agreements from outlets, vendors, and suppliers.
• Assess proposals, renewals, and amendments to ensure outlet terms fulfill client obligations.
• Formulate flow-down language and outlet contract templates.
• Identify and renegotiate misaligned outlet agreements.
• Incorporate client-facing performance obligations and financial risks into supplier accountability.
• Pinpoint gross profit growth opportunities in collaboration with Sales and Client Services.
• Analyze deal economics and contract terms to safeguard and enhance margins.
• Establish and report shared gross profit metrics.
• Maintain relationships with outlets, suppliers, processors, recyclers, and other external partners.
• Direct strategic sourcing and category management, including outlet selection, RFPs, supplier negotiations, and expense consolidation.
• Create best practices for procurement related to services and equipment.
• Enhance procurement processes, spend analysis, sourcing strategies, and contract management.
• Collaborate with IT on procurement reporting and tools.
• Execute procurement and pricing analytics along with monthly reporting.
• Provide training for the team in strategic sourcing, negotiation, pricing strategy, and outlet management.
• Assess outlet relationships and improve commercial terms, quality, and reliability.
• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.
• A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
• A minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in procurement, pricing strategy, or commercial/revenue management is necessary.
• At least 5 years of experience in a leadership capacity.
• A proven history of achieving cost savings and driving procurement strategies.
• Experience in developing pricing strategies, margin analysis, or deal structuring in conjunction with a sales organization.
• Background in developing and implementing procurement systems and processes.
• Strong supplier relationship management and negotiation capabilities.
• Familiarity with structuring back-to-back or flow-down agreements between customer and supplier/vendor contracts.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong analytical skills for procurement, pricing, and margin data.
• Commercial acumen and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and Growth teams.
• Proficient in procurement and pricing tools, reporting systems, and data analysis software.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of commodity markets along with procurement/pricing analytics and reporting metrics.
• Ability to establish and maintain cross-functional relationships.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10–15% as needed.
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
