This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and implement Harrington's logistics and transportation strategy across its diverse distribution network.
• Oversee the strategic management of LTL, parcel, truckload, expedited, and international transportation providers.
• Evaluate freight expenditures, service quality, carrier performance, and network efficiency to enhance cost, service, and productivity.
• Manage carrier negotiations, conduct quarterly business reviews, and oversee performance management with key transportation partners.
• Collaborate with Finance, Sales, and Operations to ensure complete recovery of freight and transportation costs, minimizing cost leakage.
• Set logistics KPIs and generate reports for transparency regarding transportation spending, cost recovery, and carrier performance.
• Identify opportunities to optimize and automate freight payables, cost allocation, transportation workflows, and expenditure tracking.
• Offer strategic guidance for fleet operations, focusing on asset utilization, fleet providers, telematics, driver safety, and compliance.
• Supervise and lead the Export Compliance function to ensure efficient and compliant international shipping processes.
• Mentor and develop a small team while fostering accountability, collaboration, and ongoing improvement.
• Minimum of 6 years in progressive logistics, transportation, or supply chain roles, ideally within wholesale or industrial distribution.
• Experience with multi-location or hub-and-spoke distribution networks is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; a background in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of LTL and parcel transportation, carrier management, freight pricing, and industry developments.
• Proven experience in managing transportation expenditures and negotiating agreements with carriers or service providers.
• Strong analytical and financial skills, with a track record of using data to uncover cost savings and operational enhancements.
• Familiarity with fleet management, telematics, driver compliance, and export logistics is advantageous.
• Proven leadership experience in developing professional-level staff.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-functional leadership abilities.
• Capability to blend strategic thought with practical execution.
• Experience with analytical tools such as Power BI, transportation or fleet management platforms, Microsoft Access, SQL, or related tools is beneficial.
