This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Direct and accomplish the annual international sales objectives.
• Oversee and cultivate the international sales team, which includes EMEA and APAC Regional Sales Managers.
• Collaborate with winery leadership to formulate and implement international sales and marketing strategies.
• Manage business development, importer assessments, distribution growth, channel diversification, revenue, and brand equity.
• Lead international sales management and pursue growth opportunities targeting high-volume achievements.
• Develop target accounts while educating and training trade and importer personnel.
• Directly engage in quarterly sales meetings, business reviews, trade events, wine tastings, and dinners.
• Oversee go-to-market sales processes for each product launch, which includes pricing, compliance, product setup, assets, allocations, sampling, fulfillment, POS, and merchandise.
• Support both on- and off-premise international sales teams, ensuring effective communication with international teams and Wholesale Management.
• Maintain master and consumer pricing per country.
• Ensure adherence to state, federal, and international laws and regulations.
• Manage and project sales and expense budgets while achieving quarterly revenue goals.
• Produce wholesale expense budgets, oversee monthly variances, report on sales progress, and aid in revenue forecasting.
• Assist in developing Trade Relations.
• Manage team workflows, schedules, coverage, productivity, coaching, performance evaluations, and team development.
• Provide consistent updates to the VP of Sales regarding team performance.
• Communicate sales strategies, business metrics, objectives, and KPIs to the International Sales Team.
• Maintain communication with sales support and sales management teams.
• Perform other assigned tasks and responsibilities.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of national wine sales experience.
• 5 years of international wine sales experience.
• Experience working and/or residing internationally.
• Established network of global relationships.
• Existing contacts and positive rapport with key importers.
• Proven record of establishing accounts in international markets.
• Demonstrated experience and current relationships with National Hotel Accounts.
• Proven success in business development and increasing case volume.
• Strong international business acumen and cultural understanding.
• Working knowledge of legal and compliance requirements in the international wine industry.
• Exemplary professional conduct and dependability.
• Capability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent managerial and selling abilities.
• Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Persuasive public speaking and presentation skills.
• Strong business writing and mathematical abilities.
• Ability to track details and manage information effectively.
• Willingness and ability to travel 65% or more of the time.
• Extensive capacity for international travel.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Ability to collect, interpret, and analyze complex data and information.
• Capability to understand and respond to a diverse population.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Clean DMV record is required.
• Bonus in addition to the base salary.
• Employer of Record (EOR) processing for direct-report T&E expenses.
