This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Take charge of investor and regulatory reporting functions
• Prepare financial statements and other disclosures at the state level
• Oversee investor-related reporting, which includes servicer's certificates, borrowing base calculations, funding and liquidity requirements, and forecasting
• Coordinate with external tax preparers and assist with annual and quarterly tax submissions
• Collaborate on Accounting & Finance initiatives to enhance data techniques and reporting and analysis tools
• Create and enforce policies and controls to guarantee the precision of reporting
• Discover and adopt best practices to refine financial reporting, including enhancing the reporting features of NetSuite
• Work alongside Finance, Vendor Management, Legal, and Executive Leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory and investor standards
• Keep up-to-date with financial regulations, accounting standards, and reporting obligations
• Establish new processes and controls as the organization expands
• Comply with company policies and procedures, including Compliance, UDAAP, and BSA/AML guidelines
• Execute other assigned tasks
• Over 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, and compliance within the financial services, lending, banking, or fintech sectors
• Proven experience in managing regulatory and investor reporting obligations
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is mandatory
• An active CPA license is preferred
• An MBA or a Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is advantageous
• In-depth understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting standards, accounting principles, and internal controls
• Familiarity with ERP systems; Oracle NetSuite experience is preferred
• Advanced skills in data analysis and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent organizational, prioritization, and project management skills
• Ability to cultivate trusted partnerships and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including the capacity to present complex financial data to varied audiences
• A mindset focused on continuous improvement, innovation, process optimization, and operational excellence
• Detail-oriented with a dedication to accuracy and quality
