Director of Finance – EMEA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Deliver regional finance leadership and establish business partnerships throughout the EMEA region.

• Take ownership of regional financial reporting, planning, compliance, and controls.

• Collaborate with the CFO, regional business leaders, and global finance teams to enhance financial performance, decision-making, and governance.

• Offer financial insights, challenges, and recommendations for business decisions and opportunities across EMEA.

• Provide financial support for regional growth initiatives, business planning, and key projects.

• Foster financial accountability and commercial awareness.

• Manage EMEA budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in partnership with regional stakeholders and global FP&A.

• Analyze financial performance, trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations.

• Ensure the provision of timely, clear, and useful financial information for regional leaders.

• Maintain responsibility for the quality and timeliness of regional financial reporting and review financial statements and outputs.

• Oversee statutory, tax, and regulatory compliance across the region.

• Identify, manage, and escalate compliance or entity-related issues.

• Stay informed about local requirements across EMEA.

• Take charge of regional financial governance, internal controls, and risk management.

• Serve as the senior regional finance partner and escalation point for operational matters.

• Collaborate with Accounting, Billing, Treasury, FP&A, International, and other shared teams to develop scalable processes.

• Lead initiatives for finance and business process improvements.

• Support the transition from Microsoft Dynamics SL to a modern ERP platform, reflecting EMEA requirements.

• Lead and nurture the regional finance team, shaping its future structure and capabilities.

• Cultivate collaboration and accountability among regional finance, global finance, and business partners.

• Manage relationships with regional leaders, global finance, shared functions, and external advisors.

• Act as the primary finance liaison between EMEA operations and global finance.

• Balance regional and global priorities while reporting directly to the CFO and indirectly to the Managing Director, EMEA.

• Communicate financial information, updates, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

• Perform additional reasonable duties to support business needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Holder of a degree and professionally qualified management accountant (CIMA or Dutch equivalent).

• Demonstrated experience managing finance operations across multiple EMEA legal entities and jurisdictions, including financial governance, payroll compliance, supplier management, financial reporting, and adherence to local statutory and regulatory requirements.

• Significant experience in reviewing financial performance, management reporting, and key business metrics, delivering financial insights and accurate management information for business decision-making.

• Proven ability to provide financial analysis, challenge, and assurance to senior stakeholders.

• Experience in supporting the establishment and ongoing management of legal entities across Europe, including financial, tax, payroll, and regulatory obligations.

• Familiarity with working in a global finance environment across multiple regions and legal entities.

• Experience in operating within a global, matrixed organization and influencing stakeholders across different regions and functions.

• Strong grasp of VAT compliance and financial controls across various entities and jurisdictions.

• Comprehensive understanding of international tax requirements, including corporation tax, VAT, and transfer pricing.

• Solid understanding of financial systems, reporting tools, and financial reporting processes in a multi-entity international context.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

• Experience in leading, managing, and developing finance professionals, including performance management, coaching, and capability advancement.

• Proven track record in building and leading high-performing teams.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Collaborative leadership style across functions, countries, and regions.

• Exceptional organizational and planning skills; adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines with precision and attention to detail.
