This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the finance data warehouse, including data architecture and models that support planning, reporting, and analytics.
• Create, develop, and manage scalable data models that integrate ERP, billing, operational, labor, and customer data.
• Design and maintain SQL-based ETL/ELT pipelines for the ingestion, transformation, and validation of source-system data.
• Set data governance standards, define data, manage master data, establish access controls, conduct data quality checks, and perform general-ledger reconciliation.
• Collaborate with IT and Enterprise Data teams regarding platform choices, security measures, environment management, and performance enhancement.
• Direct the finance BI and reporting strategy and roadmap.
• Create executive dashboards and KPI frameworks that encompass P&L, cost-to-serve, labor productivity, margin, and cash metrics.
• Standardize reporting and metrics across customer accounts, promoting the adoption of self-service analytics.
• Develop and maintain automated, driver-based forecasting and financial planning models.
• Automate reporting processes for ERP and the data warehouse, incorporating actual-versus-plan and forecast variance reporting.
• Create predictive and statistical models for forecasting volume, revenue, and cost drivers.
• Assist with annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasting, and month-end close cycles using reconciled and auditable data.
• Lead cross-functional finance data and systems initiatives from scoping to delivery.
• Oversee the finance data and automation roadmap, including project charters, requirements, timelines, risks, issues, and status updates.
• Coordinate with Finance, Operations, IT, vendors, and consultants without having direct authority.
• Manage system implementations, integrations, enhancements, user acceptance testing, cutover activities, and post-go-live support.
• Identify and eliminate manual, inefficient, and unnecessary finance processes.
• Automate accruals, invoice uploads, and billing reconciliations.
• Assess automation impact by measuring hours saved, error reduction, cycle-time improvement, and cost savings.
• Evaluate and recommend cloud data solutions, workflow automation, and AI/ML technologies.
• Provide counsel to Finance and Operations leadership on data, analytics, and technology strategy.
• Convert technical concepts into insights and presentations suitable for executives.
• Mentor and enhance the skills of analysts and finance team members in SQL, BI tools, and data best practices.
• Securely manage sensitive financial information in compliance with internal controls.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required, ideally in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• A Master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in FP&A, financial systems, data engineering, or business intelligence.
• Minimum of 3 years in a senior or lead technical role.
• Proven experience in designing, building, and managing a finance or operations data warehouse or enterprise reporting platform.
• Experience leading cross-functional programs or system implementations from conception to delivery.
• Background in logistics, supply chain, or third-party logistics is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, and query performance optimization.
• Practical experience with data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric/Azure Synapse, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, or SQL Server.
• Expert-level skills with BI tools, preferably Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience in creating and managing ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like Azure Data Factory, SSIS, dbt, or Alteryx.
• Proficiency in Python for data transformation, automation, and forecasting is a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
• Knowledge of Git, Jira, Azure DevOps, and Power Automate is preferred.
• PMP, Agile/Scrum, or relevant data and cloud certifications are preferred.
• Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking.
• Strong mathematical, statistical, analytical, financial, and accounting skills.
• Understanding of accounting principles, P&L structure, and financial closing processes.
• Willingness to travel by plane and automobile.
