Director of Dredging Contracts

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Serve as the main liaison between dredging operations and the Legal department.

• Oversee the REA / VEQ / Change Order claim process from initial identification to final resolution.

• Act as Curtin's primary representative for clients regarding disputes and claims.

• Lead negotiations on change orders and claims, collaborating with Curtin's supporting team.

• Maintain an active claims tracker to ensure all deadlines and notifications are adhered to.

• Work in conjunction with Legal to draft letters, responses, and claim-related documents.

• Monitor ongoing projects and team up with Project Management to identify and prepare potential claims.

• Collaborate with Project Management and Accounting to collect documentation for USACE submissions.

• Keep track of all deadlines, responses, and notifications.

• Maintain reports that document production variations, project events, payments, and quality metrics.

• Comprehend contract requirements and assist project teams in ensuring compliance.

• Attend contract/client meetings and oversee dredging project subcontracts.

• Assist the Bid Team with ensuring contract compliance.

• Communicate daily with active projects, Legal, and Accounting/Finance.

• Participate in daily production calls, documenting deviations from bid estimates and their causes.

• Background in construction or marine construction claims is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• A valid Driver's License with a clean driving history is required.
