This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Serve as the main liaison between dredging operations and the Legal department.
β’ Oversee the REA / VEQ / Change Order claim process from initial identification to final resolution.
β’ Act as Curtin's primary representative for clients regarding disputes and claims.
β’ Lead negotiations on change orders and claims, collaborating with Curtin's supporting team.
β’ Maintain an active claims tracker to ensure all deadlines and notifications are adhered to.
β’ Work in conjunction with Legal to draft letters, responses, and claim-related documents.
β’ Monitor ongoing projects and team up with Project Management to identify and prepare potential claims.
β’ Collaborate with Project Management and Accounting to collect documentation for USACE submissions.
β’ Keep track of all deadlines, responses, and notifications.
β’ Maintain reports that document production variations, project events, payments, and quality metrics.
β’ Comprehend contract requirements and assist project teams in ensuring compliance.
β’ Attend contract/client meetings and oversee dredging project subcontracts.
β’ Assist the Bid Team with ensuring contract compliance.
β’ Communicate daily with active projects, Legal, and Accounting/Finance.
β’ Participate in daily production calls, documenting deviations from bid estimates and their causes.
β’ Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
β’ High level of integrity, strong work ethic, and proficient negotiation skills.
β’ Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.
β’ Self-driven team player who can work independently with minimal supervision.
β’ Ability to comprehend and execute intricate instructions.
β’ Strategic thinker who considers the long-term impacts of contract and claim decisions.
β’ Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
β’ Experience with USACE is highly preferred, including hands-on involvement in the REA/VEQ claim process.
β’ Background in construction or marine construction claims is preferred.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
β’ A valid Driver's License with a clean driving history is required.
