Director, Institutional Giving

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation, drafting, and submission of proposals to foundations, letters of inquiry, and grant reports.

• Transform Repair the World’s programs, impacts, and priorities into engaging narratives that resonate with funder interests.

• Collaborate with program, evaluation, finance, and leadership teams to collect content, outcome data, and financial information.

• Ensure the timely submission of grant deliverables while maintaining clarity, accuracy, and high-quality storytelling.

• Tailor organizational language to align with funder priorities without losing Repair the World’s unique voice and values.

• Manage external grant writing consultants as required.

• Maintain and communicate an all-encompassing grants calendar.

• Develop and uphold internal processes for grant development and reporting.

• Coordinate budgets, narratives, outcomes, and necessary attachments for submissions.

• Keep organized records and documentation for grants.

• Assist in stewardship communications, written updates, impact materials, and narrative assets for institutional supporters.

• Collaborate with frontline fundraisers on donor communications.

• Supervise the Donor Communications Manager, providing direction, feedback, and support for professional development.

• Review and guide materials related to donor communications across proposals, donor updates, and development messaging.

• Manage a small portfolio of national foundation partners in conjunction with senior development staff.

• Report to the Senior Director of Development and participate as a member of the seven-person Development team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, writing, or a related area.

• Proven success in writing and managing foundation grant proposals and reports.

• Experience in drafting grant proposals ranging from $50,000 to over $1,000,000.

• Exceptional organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.

• Experience in supervising staff and fostering professional growth.

• Familiarity with Salesforce or a similar CRM system.

• Preference for candidates with knowledge of donor research tools and project management platforms.

• A strong passion for Repair the World’s mission and a commitment to fostering vibrant Jewish communities through service.

• Submission of a resume and a writing sample from a grant proposal or report authored by the candidate.

• Ability to specify the candidate’s role if the writing sample was part of a collaborative submission.
