This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +4 more states.
• Report directly to the General Counsel.
• Negotiate contracts with clients.
• Create customer-focused solutions that ensure legal compliance while meeting both internal and external customer requirements.
• Assist business operations by providing guidance and advice on adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
• Keep up-to-date with legal statutes, legislative changes, and emerging trends.
• Anticipate challenges faced by the business, both internally and externally.
• Propose enhancements to processes, products, or services.
• Address unique and intricate problems that have a significant impact on the business.
• Analyze complex scenarios or data and contribute to the functional strategy.
• Innovate concepts, services, technologies, or products to meet customer needs.
• Predict customer requirements and foster innovative solutions.
• Convey complex ideas effectively across various organizational levels.
• Collaborate across the organization to gain support for ideas and initiatives.
• Work independently within a complex environment.
• Juris Doctor degree (or equivalent) from an ABA accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in good standing in at least one state.
• 15+ years of professional experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of prior experience as in-house counsel is required.
• Current bar member or eligible to be admitted to the in-house counsel bar.
• Proven experience in negotiating and drafting various agreements, including service agreements, license agreements, subcontracts, marketing agreements, real estate leases, non-disclosure agreements, confidentiality agreements, and consulting agreements.
• Experience supporting operations outside of the United States.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Proven track record of building relationships and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail with the capability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects under time constraints.
• Ability to perform effectively in a demanding and entrepreneurial setting, delivering results promptly.
• Skill in anticipating business challenges and suggesting improvements.
• Capability to tackle unique and complex issues with significant business implications.
• Ability to work independently in a complex environment.
