This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee the daily legal operations while establishing priorities and standards
β’ Recruit, manage, and mentor the legal team, focusing on hiring, workload allocation, and professional growth
β’ Provide counsel on data privacy and security regulations, policies, and incident management
β’ Negotiate client contracts, including MSAs, order forms, DPAs, and enterprise procurement documents
β’ Advise the Product and Engineering teams on intellectual property, licensing, open-source usage, and proprietary technologies
β’ Collaborate with Sales and Revenue Operations to develop contracting playbooks, standard terms, and approval processes
β’ Oversee relationships with outside counsel and manage legal expenditures
β’ Counsel leadership on governance, risk management, and compliance issues
β’ Assist with employment law matters alongside the People/HR team, including policy evaluation and workplace investigations
β’ Keep abreast of regulatory and legislative changes impacting SaaS, privacy, artificial intelligence, and relevant sectors
β’ Manage contract lifecycle processes and legal operations tools
β’ Work with Finance on overdue customer accounts and potential legal solutions
β’ Set and monitor Legal department KPIs and enhance processes, including AI-driven workflow automation
β’ Support M&A, corporate transactions, and strategic projects
β’ Report directly to the CFO and engage with teams across the organization and executive leadership
β’ Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state
β’ Minimum of 8 years of legal experience, including at least 3 years in-house at a B2B SaaS or technology firm
β’ At least 3 years of direct experience in negotiating SaaS customer contracts, such as MSAs, DPAs, and complex order forms
β’ Experience in managing or mentoring attorneys and legal professionals
β’ Strong knowledge of data privacy and security laws, including privacy programs and regulatory updates
β’ Solid foundation in intellectual property law related to software products, including licensing and open-source matters
β’ Proven experience advising business leaders on governance, risk, and compliance issues
β’ Sound business acumen with the ability to balance legal risks against commercial realities
β’ Exceptional negotiation, communication, and cross-functional influencing skills
β’ Proven track record of developing and refining legal processes and policies in a rapidly growing organization
β’ Must reside in the U.S. full-time
β’ Must be eligible to work in the United States; scholastic or employment visas are not applicable
