Director, Infrastructure & Maintenance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Develop and spearhead enterprise strategies, standards, and governance pertaining to facility infrastructure, maintenance systems, asset management, and reliability.

• Set consistent expectations and best practices across various manufacturing sites.

• Provide enterprise leadership for CMMS, preventive and predictive maintenance, maintenance planning, asset hierarchies, work-order processes, OEE, and equipment reliability.

• Propel system adoption, ensure data integrity, and maintain consistent maintenance practices across locations.

• Supervise HVAC, electrical distribution, boilers, steam systems, compressed air, water/wastewater management, fire protection, life-safety systems, roofing, and general building systems.

• Conduct facility assessments to identify risks related to reliability, compliance, capacity, and business continuity.

• Formulate multi-year infrastructure and maintenance capital roadmaps.

• Assist in facility modernization, expansion, equipment replacement, and major capital projects.

• Establish and monitor enterprise KPIs for maintenance effectiveness, equipment uptime, OEE, facility health, utility performance, and reliability.

• Utilize data and root-cause analysis to uncover opportunities for improvement and promote accountability.

• Collaborate with site and functional leaders to ensure priorities align with operational goals.

• Manage change effectively, provide training, share best practices, cultivate vendor partnerships, and drive enterprise initiatives.

• Oversee utility optimization, energy reduction, water conservation, and sustainability initiatives.

• Assist with regulatory compliance, insurance, permitting, audit readiness, and corrective action activities.

• Partner with Engineering and Operations on equipment commissioning and maintenance integration for capital projects.

• Manage contractors, engineering firms, consultants, service providers, and equipment partners.

• Support investigations related to infrastructure failures, equipment reliability issues, maintenance gaps, or utility disruptions.

• Provide senior leadership with assessments of facility health, reliability, capital, and risks.

• Address critical infrastructure or equipment issues outside of normal business hours as necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, both now and in the future.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Facilities Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, or a related technical field (Required).

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in maintenance, reliability, infrastructure/facilities engineering, asset management, manufacturing engineering, or industrial operations (Required).

• 4-6 years of experience leading multi-site or enterprise maintenance, reliability, infrastructure, or engineering programs (Required).

• 4-6 years of demonstrated experience with CMMS, preventive and predictive maintenance, asset reliability, OEE/KPI reporting, infrastructure assessment, and capital planning (Required).

• High proficiency in facility infrastructure and industrial utilities.

• High proficiency in maintenance and reliability strategy.

• High proficiency in CMMS administration and governance.

• High proficiency in preventive/predictive maintenance and asset management.

• High proficiency in OEE, maintenance KPIs, and performance reporting.

• High proficiency in capital planning and asset lifecycle management.

• High proficiency in facility risk, compliance, and audit readiness.

• High proficiency in root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

• High proficiency in multi-site leadership and change management.

• High proficiency in cross-functional leadership and influence.

• High proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and ROI.

• Medium proficiency in contractor and vendor management.

• Medium proficiency in energy management and sustainability.
