This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Safeguard and enhance the quality and integrity of the AP US History exam, curriculum, and professional development materials.
β’ Oversee the creation and evaluation of assessments for AP US History.
β’ Write, modify, review, and manage both formative and summative assessment content and scoring resources.
β’ Utilize generative AI to create and assess content, improving the assessment process.
β’ Develop AP US History assessment forms in accordance with sanctioned curricula and testing specifications.
β’ Facilitate in-person, weekend, and virtual meetings with the AP US History Test Development Committee.
β’ Mentor and oversee Test Development Committee members, and recruit educators for development initiatives.
β’ Direct annual AP Reading scoring events and generate publications for educators and students.
β’ Supervise exam validity, security, reliability, fairness, quality, and reader dependability.
β’ Collaborate with psychometrics personnel to set fair, reliable, and valid cut scores.
β’ Enhance the AP US History Course Framework and align learning objectives with strategic goals and academic standards.
β’ Assist in the development of new AP US History products, prototypes, market testing, and development models.
β’ Interact with educators to boost teacher satisfaction regarding AP US History and its assessment.
β’ Support AP US History consultants and educators alongside the AP Professional Learning team.
β’ Work in partnership with the AP Higher Education team on college and university outreach, AP Reading recruitment, Faculty Colloquia, and Visiting and Virtual Fellows Programs.
β’ A Masterβs degree in US History or a closely related field is mandatory.
β’ Understanding of contemporary trends in US History.
β’ A Doctorate in the field is highly preferred.
β’ Minimum of 5 years of experience in standardized assessment development or a similar role.
β’ Preferably experienced with digital assessment and teaching methods.
β’ Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
β’ Strong technical skills and a customer-oriented perspective.
β’ Outstanding organizational and planning capabilities, including proofreading skills.
β’ Competence in implementing processes and procedures, managing project timelines, and maintaining tracking documentation.
β’ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
β’ Capacity to work well at all organizational levels and engage in constructive feedback.
β’ Willingness to travel 6β8 times a year, plus additional two weeks for the AP Reading.
β’ Must be eligible and authorized to work in the United States.
