Director – HEOR Oncology Research Scientist

📋 Description

• Provide strategic leadership and insights regarding health outcomes evidence requirements for Lilly’s oncology portfolio.

• Establish strategies for real-world evidence, patient-reported outcomes, and economic value across the therapeutic area.

• Lead, manage, coach, and nurture a team of HEOR scientists.

• Facilitate the integration of HEOR from early clinical development through to commercialization.

• Develop and oversee research strategies for health outcomes concerning portfolio compounds.

• Act as a senior HEOR strategic partner on lead and core teams.

• Formulate and implement patient-focused outcome, real-world evidence, and economic value strategies for priority products and regions.

• Create consistent and agile HEOR standards throughout the oncology portfolio.

• Design and execute impactful research throughout the product lifecycle.

• Utilize technical expertise in statistical analysis, economic modeling, clinical trials, patient-focused outcomes, observational/epidemiologic research, and value assessment.

• Address health outcomes challenges related to registration, pricing, reimbursement, and access.

• Mentor junior scientists and colleagues in HEOR methodologies and best practices.

• Lead health outcomes evidence planning and execution in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Influence business partners regarding HEOR prioritization, trade-offs, and recommendations.

• Triage business partner inquiries and offer enterprise HEOR consultation.

• Allocate talent and resources efficiently across the oncology portfolio.

• Foster an inclusive, accountable team culture.

• Communicate health outcomes data to internal partners, the scientific community, and customers.

• Lead dissemination through abstracts, posters, podium presentations, promotional materials, and manuscripts.

• Drive the application of research findings and deliverables.

• Monitor developments in disease-state, health outcomes, market, and methodologies.

• Anticipate future market demands and strategize HEOR capacity accordingly.

• Coordinate projects to adhere to timelines, budgets, and scopes with internal partners and external collaborators.


⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate (PhD, MD) with over 7 years of experience in developing, executing, and delivering health outcomes strategies/projects OR PharmD/MS degree with over 7 years of experience in developing, executing, and delivering health outcomes strategies/projects.

• Strong understanding and communication skills, with the ability to translate and share complex scientific information clearly and succinctly.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proven ability to influence and collaborate within and across teams.

• Demonstrated experience in setting and leading HEOR strategy across a portfolio or therapeutic area.

• Proven leadership experience in managing, developing, and guiding scientists.

• Established ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders.

• Demonstrated capability to drive research agendas to completion and dissemination.

• Ability to think globally with a customer-centric and solution-oriented approach.

• Knowledge of health economics, patient-reported outcomes, real-world evidence, access and reimbursement, statistical analysis, economic modeling, clinical trials, observational/epidemiologic research, and health technology or value assessment.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally 10–25% of the time.
