This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Conduct literature searches and reviews on topics related to education and associated systems.

• Assist in research efforts by obtaining IRB approvals and managing data agreements.

• Contribute to the development of data collection protocols.

• Co-facilitate both primary and secondary data collection activities.

• Utilize software for conducting qualitative and/or quantitative analyses.

• Oversee the management, cleaning, analysis, and interpretation of data.

• Document notes, prepare agendas, and organize meetings for research teams.

• Coordinate and actively participate in the development of proposals.

• Design and update report templates.

• Manage project timelines and communicate important deadlines.

• Contribute to and revise research and evaluation reports, as well as proposals.

• Develop brief papers, infographics, and other materials to present findings to clients, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers.

• Assist with the preparation of presentations for clients and conferences.

• Collaborate as part of WestEd’s Center for Mobility and Measurement to conduct and apply research, create evidence-based solutions, and offer consulting services aimed at improving equitable outcomes.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree or graduate-level training in education or a related social science field.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience in data management.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Docs.

• Skill in developing organizational structures, including file-sharing systems, timelines, and trackers.

• Exceptional organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and efficient time management.

• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with quick project turnarounds.

• Capacity to effectively manage multiple priorities.

• Training or coursework in statistical methods.

• Familiarity with statistical coding languages, such as R, SPSS, Stata, or similar tools.

• Experience in survey design and/or analysis.

• Exposure to qualitative data collection and analysis methodologies.

• Understanding of education, education policy, and/or educational research.

• Experience handling both quantitative and qualitative data in education.

• Competence in data visualization techniques.

• Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 20%, within the United States.

• Experience in data collection and processing, including implementing data quality control procedures.

• Proficiency in report writing.

• Experience presenting information to external audiences.

• Applied experience in statistical analysis.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

• Visa sponsorship is not available.

• Successful candidates will be required to pass a criminal background check and verify their education credentials.
