
Director, Greenfield Operations – Branch Performance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the operational planning and execution for the opening of new greenfield branches and significant facility startups.
• Develop and manage comprehensive launch plans, milestone trackers, readiness checklists, and implementation timelines.
• Ensure facility readiness by coordinating staffing, systems, inventory, fleet management, safety protocols, customer preparedness, and go-live support.
• Collaborate with the COO and executive leadership to establish launch priorities, allocate resources, assess risks, and make critical decisions.
• Take ownership of post-opening ramp-up activities to enhance speed-to-productivity and secure early performance stability.
• Track revenue, service readiness, inventory levels, staffing needs, customer activation, and overall operating productivity.
• Coordinate corrective measures for any early performance deficiencies and transition new branches to regional operational management.
• Collaborate on capital planning, branch-related investments, facility expansions, project timelines, budget considerations, readiness risks, and return on investment (ROI).
• Assist in executing targeted recovery strategies for specific underperforming branches.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, IT, Pricing, Safety, and Marketing departments.
• Manage launch dashboards, readiness reports, performance tracking, and updates for executives.
• Analyze ramp-up performance metrics, productivity, service readiness, staffing levels, inventory, and capital efficiency.
• Lead, mentor, and develop managers and directors involved in launches, productivity initiatives, and recovery efforts.
• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of progressive leadership experience in multi-site operations, industrial distribution, branch operations, logistics, manufacturing, or comparable industries.
• Demonstrated success in leading greenfield openings, facility startups, branch launches, network expansions, or large-scale operational implementations.
• Experience in Construction Management, particularly with buildout and remodeling projects.
• Proven track record of leading managers and directors within a matrixed organization.
• Experience in managing capital projects, facility expansions, implementation schedules, and cross-functional launch teams.
• Strong analytical skills, project management abilities, change leadership experience, and executive communication skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout the branch network.
• Preferred: Background in private equity-backed or high-growth environments.
• Preferred: Experience in supporting acquisition integrations, network expansions, branch consolidations, or entering new markets.
• Preferred: Familiarity with building products, construction products, distribution, or industrial operations.
• Preferred: Knowledge of performance dashboards, branch KPIs, project management tools, and operational cadence routines.
