This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage federal grants, specifically SAMHSA awards that support the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
• Supervise pre-award planning, organization, budget creation, post-award management, reporting, procurement, and grant closure.
• Ensure adherence to SAMHSA requirements, organizational policies, 2 CFR Part 200, 2 CFR Part 300, award conditions, and other relevant federal regulations.
• Direct fiscal and grant-related business operations for 988 across Finance, Operations, Program, and Grants Management teams.
• Review, authorize, and process invoices related to federal grants, contracts, and vendor payments.
• Oversee procurement and contract procedures associated with federal grant funding.
• Coordinate and submit performance, progress, and financial documentation to SAMHSA.
• Align grant strategy, oversee budgets, and ensure compliance across departments.
• Review and sanction financial reconciliations and reclassification requests.
• Maintain audit readiness by enhancing systems, controls, records, and documentation.
• Act as the primary liaison to SAMHSA’s Grants Management Specialist and the 988 Government Project Officer.
• Meet weekly with the AVP, 988 Strategy and Grants Management, to provide updates and address potential risks.
• Convert Lifeline/988 policy goals and award requirements into actionable plans.
• Supervise and mentor the Grants Manager and direct reports through performance management, training, coaching, and guidance.
• Participate in leadership and DEIB professional development.
• Undertake additional duties as required.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Over 7 years of progressively responsible professional experience in managing federal grants, with significant post-award compliance duties.
• Proven leadership experience in a relevant domain, including strategic planning, outreach and engagement, staff development, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience in managing relationships with federal funders and supervising budgeting, reporting, procurement, and post-award compliance for federally funded programs.
• Proficient in managing relationships with federal funders and internal teams.
• High emotional intelligence and professionalism in diverse stakeholder environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong time management, organizational, and project prioritization skills.
• Strategic thinking, delegation, and decision-making capabilities.
• Basic knowledge of accounting and the use of financial data.
• Solution-oriented approach to challenges and team leadership.
• Preferred interest or experience in mental health, suicide prevention, or the nonprofit sector.
• Master’s degree in healthcare, public health, policy, or a social science discipline preferred.
