📋 Description

• Formulate and execute Tilt Collective's strategy for external affairs.

• Craft tailored engagement strategies for target audiences in the climate, health, and nature sectors.

• Spearhead cross-departmental communication initiatives throughout the organization.

• Oversee external agencies, including communication firms, graphic designers, and content creators.

• Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of external affairs using pertinent metrics and insights.

• Shape the core narrative of Tilt Collective regarding balanced diets and the transformation of food systems.

• Create versatile messaging frameworks that account for cultural sensitivities across international markets.

• Develop and curate messaging, storytelling, and visual content aimed at diverse donor audiences.

• Formulate and manage the strategy for events, including gatherings for donors and grantee partners.

• Assist in event execution and the selection and management of local event contractors.

• Establish communication profiles for Tilt Collective, its CEO, and selected senior leaders.

• Foster and maintain relationships with both specialized and mainstream media outlets.

• Initiate proactive media opportunities and manage incoming media inquiries.

• Oversee media strategy and reputation management across various channels and content types.

• Develop relationships with communication counterparts at partner philanthropic organizations.

• Maintain plans for crisis communications.

• Create brand guidelines and ensure uniformity across markets and touchpoints.

• Manage the organization’s website and social media platforms.

• Produce high-impact communication materials that support fundraising goals and articulate Tilt's value proposition.

• Report directly to the Chief Partnerships Officer and collaborate with the Directors of Philanthropy and Grants, as well as the Monitoring & Evaluation team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Extensive and demonstrated experience in strategic external affairs or communications positions.

• Native or fluent proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken.

• Knowledge of additional languages relevant to regional presence is advantageous, such as Portuguese or German.

• Proven experience in media relations, brand and senior executive profile development, and stakeholder engagement at a senior level.

• Experience in managing external communication partners or agencies.

• Demonstrated experience leading international communications for a global organization operating across multiple regions.

• Strong understanding of sustainability, climate, and health issues in relation to sustainable food systems.

• Experience working with or within philanthropic organizations, foundations, or NGOs, focusing on executive profile development and collaboration with fundraising teams.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities.

• Ability to translate organizational objectives into effective communication strategies.

• Strong skills in media relations.

• Proficiency in digital communications, social media platforms, and content management systems.

• Experience in communications analytics and performance assessment.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the capability to influence and build relationships across various organizational levels.

• Ability to work effectively across different cultures and geographical locations.

• Entrepreneurial mindset suited for a growing organization.

• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid changes in a start-up style setting.

• Adaptability and creative problem-solving abilities.
