This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.
• Drive the vision, strategy, and lifecycle of a worldwide portfolio of AI-enabled Medical Writing products.
• Articulate and convey the product vision, multi-year strategy, and outcome-driven roadmap.
• Convert Medical Writing and clinical development priorities into reusable product functionalities.
• Collaborate with business leaders, the PPD Digital Product Domain Head, technology teams, and delivery partners.
• Establish product-management practices and mentor product owners and cross-functional contributors.
• Execute user discovery, workflow observation, user research, and Voice of Customer initiatives.
• Identify users, challenges, use cases, requirements, acceptance criteria, and measurable success outcomes.
• Guarantee human-in-the-loop authoring and review, source traceability, version lineage, scientific integrity, and qualified-user accountability.
• Represent the entire content lifecycle from authoring through review, amendment, approval, reuse, submission, or archival.
• Lead global, matrixed delivery across product, engineering, data science, UX, quality and validation, information security, operations, and vendors.
• Own product scope, backlog priorities, release goals, acceptance criteria, definition of done, and readiness decisions.
• Oversee delivery partner and vendor outcomes, quality, timelines, dependencies, escalations, and stakeholder communication.
• Collaborate on build, buy, and partnership decisions and secure scalable, maintainable, reusable architectures.
• Shape requirements for generative AI and automation strategies.
• Establish product quality metrics and evaluation strategies for content accuracy, completeness, consistency, critical errors, reviewer effort, and appropriate utilization.
• Integrate responsible AI, privacy, security, validation, auditability, and regulatory expectations into product decisions.
• Ensure release evidence reflects intended use and clarifies limitations, fallbacks, and human review responsibilities.
• Manage the lifecycle from opportunity discovery and business case development to launch, production support, continuous improvement, and retirement or replacement.
• Define and track adoption, user experience, document quality, cycle time, review effort, reliability, efficiency, and business-value metrics.
• Oversee launch readiness, stakeholder communications, training, change enablement, and feedback mechanisms.
• Utilize production insights, support themes, defects, and user feedback to refine priorities.
• Monitor external markets, customer needs, emerging AI capabilities, competitors, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop value propositions and evidence-based business cases.
• Represent the portfolio to senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, technology, business, or a related field.
• Advanced degree is preferred.
• Progressive product management experience, including senior leadership of complex digital products or portfolios, with around 10+ years of experience.
• Ownership of the complete product lifecycle, including discovery, strategy, roadmap, delivery, launch, adoption, performance management, and value realization.
• Experience in clinical research, drug development, Medical Writing, regulatory content, or another highly regulated life sciences environment is strongly preferred.
• Experience in delivering AI, machine learning, analytics, or workflow automation products.
• Practical knowledge of generative AI is highly desirable.
• Experience leading global, cross-functional teams and third-party delivery partners in a matrixed organization.
• Strong product leadership and product management skills.
• Working knowledge of clinical document authoring and review, including quality, traceability, confidentiality, and regulatory expectations.
• AI fluency sufficient to collaborate with technical teams and make informed decisions about model quality, evaluation, limitations, governance, and user experience.
• Stakeholder and vendor leadership skills.
• Strong customer orientation and discovery capabilities.
• Commercial and analytical acumen, including business cases, portfolio prioritization, product metrics, and evidence-based value tracking.
• Clear and persuasive written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound judgment, resilience, and a collaborative leadership style.
• Ability to communicate, receive, and comprehend information and ideas with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to work upright and stationary for typical working hours.
• Proficiency in using standard office equipment and technology.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure while prioritizing and managing multiple projects or activities.
• May require occasional travel (0-20%).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
