This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a technical team responsible for managing CenterWell’s AI and machine learning initiatives.
• Convert product priorities into validated AI solutions that enhance patient-care metrics and operational efficiency.
• Direct the development and validation of AI/ML models tailored for specific business segments and company-wide applications.
• Utilize suitable AI methodologies within healthcare environments.
• Encourage experimentation and quick prototyping to assess technical feasibility and model efficacy.
• Ensure that models are operationally sound, maintainable, and ready for production.
• Establish enterprise-level frameworks for monitoring models and tracking production performance.
• Articulate the technical vision, roadmap, and operational model for scalable data science.
• Collaborate with AI Product Management to convert use cases into technical strategies, timelines, and resource allocations.
• Offer technical consulting regarding feasibility, effort estimation, and trade-offs.
• Convey model capabilities and performance metrics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop technical roadmaps that align with product priorities.
• Engage with clinical and operational partners to grasp domain context and validate model outputs.
• Build and nurture a high-performing data science team that promotes collaboration and continuous learning.
• Create reusable frameworks, model templates, and shared libraries.
• Partner with Product, IT, Enterprise AI, data governance/architecture, clinical, and operations teams.
• Over 8 years of data science experience focused on developing and deploying ML models in production settings.
• Profound technical knowledge in AI/ML methodologies.
• Practical experience in writing and reviewing product-quality code.
• Proven track record in developing models from initial conception to production deployment.
• At least 5 years of management experience, including talent development and cross-functional leadership.
• Experience collaborating with product, engineering, and partners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices such as model versioning, experiment tracking, and product monitoring.
• Ability to articulate complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
• Capacity to maintain credibility with senior data scientists and ML engineers.
• Demonstrated leadership in establishing technical standards, best practices, and team processes.
• Willingness to work during Eastern Time Zone hours.
• A dedicated workspace free from ongoing interruptions to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information.
• Home internet service with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.
• Preferred: experience in healthcare environments, EHR data, clinical terminologies, and healthcare-specific ML complexities.
• Preferred: knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks.
• Preferred: advanced degree (MS or PhD) in computer science, (bio)statistics, informatics, or a related quantitative field.
