This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +2 more countries.
• Contribute to the strategy, design, and roadmap for lakehouse architecture utilizing medallion principles.
• Align the reporting and analytics architecture with operational, clinical, financial, and safety requirements.
• Direct engineering initiatives concerning data ingestion, transformation, storage, and optimization within the Enterprise Data Lake.
• Oversee the performance, quality, reliability, security, and lifecycle management of data within the lake environment.
• Ensure scalable engineering pipelines across various data domains, complying with governance requirements.
• Act as a subject matter expert in data delivery processes.
• Align data products and services with the organization's strategic priorities.
• Direct cross-functional prioritization and delivery processes.
• Advocate for transparency and communication regarding data technology roadmaps.
• Build, mentor, and lead global data engineering teams.
• Foster capability development in cloud engineering, Databricks, CI/CD, SQL, and Python.
• Promote a culture focused on innovation, operational rigor, and customer-centered delivery.
• Facilitate Parexel's real-world data movement within the Enterprise Data Lake.
• Deliver standardized operational data products across clinical, safety, and corporate domains.
• Collaborate with Data and Technology teams, the Data and Analytics Center of Excellence, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality, well-governed data.
• Strong advanced-level IT experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale enterprise integration services and platforms across diverse hardware and software environments.
• Significant expertise in emerging computing architectures.
• Exposure to Real World Data within the clinical and medical sectors.
• Experience with GxP regulations in a life sciences context is advantageous.
• Extensive experience leading teams in data delivery management and execution, including substantial projects in data management, integration, and analytics.
• Strong experience in people and team management.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing applications in new computing architecture environments using cutting-edge technologies.
• Experience managing technical personnel through various project lifecycle phases with cross-functional exposure.
• Experience in overseeing financial resources across multiple projects.
• Skilled in developing efficient and effective solutions to intricate business challenges.
• Extensive experience in implementing and supporting enterprise data initiatives on cloud platforms.
• Demonstrated expertise in data and cloud platforms, particularly Azure Databricks.
• Significant experience with medallion architecture-based data lake implementations.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL querying and query optimization (mandatory).
• Proficient in modern data management and data-sharing tools, programming languages, relational databases, data transformation, and development frameworks.
• Particularly proficient in Python.
• Deep understanding of architectural best practices, application design, and estimation processes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of application architectures and enterprise application ecosystems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (required).
• Must be located in the UK, Poland, or Romania.
