
Director, Corporate Development β Special Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
β’ Establish and develop VAST's Corporate Development function from the ground up, creating processes for deal sourcing and execution.
β’ Identify, assess, and implement strategic investments and M&A opportunities that align with VAST's long-term vision.
β’ Perform market research and competitive analysis to guide corporate strategy and evaluate opportunities.
β’ Cultivate and sustain an understanding of pertinent products, technologies, and markets.
β’ Oversee the complete deal process, including due diligence, financial modeling, negotiations, and integration planning.
β’ Foster and enhance relationships with VCs, investment bankers, and potential acquisition targets.
β’ Manage strategic, cross-functional, complex, and/or sensitive special projects.
β’ Conduct ongoing financial benchmarking against peers and the industry to inform strategy, planning, and positioning.
β’ Assist with Investor Relations activities, including narrative development, materials creation, investor communications, conference preparation, and fundraising initiatives.
β’ Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships throughout the organization.
β’ Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field.
β’ MBA is preferred, though not mandatory.
β’ 8+ years of experience in Corporate Development, Investment Banking, or VC/PE, with a significant emphasis on tech M&A and strategic growth.
β’ Exceptional modeling capabilities and experience with complex businesses in fast-paced, highly dynamic markets.
β’ Familiarity with AI tools, Excel, and Google Workspace.
β’ Knowledge of Tableau, SFDC, and NetSuite is an advantage.
β’ Excellent communication skills and experience in preparing, presenting, and engaging with executives, investors, and sophisticated business audiences.
β’ Strong ability to tell stories with data.
β’ A robust ownership mentality and a deep intellectual curiosity.
β’ A pragmatic approach with a readiness to take initiative.
