Director, Corporate Communications

📋 Description

• Manage the complete earned media strategy for product launches, corporate announcements, and campaigns.

• Cultivate relationships with top-tier technology, business, and AI trade journalists, podcasters, and independent influencers.

• Enhance WEKA’s corporate narrative across both earned and owned channels.

• Develop technical spokespersons through bylines, panels, and speaking engagements.

• Oversee issues and crisis communications playbooks, escalation procedures, and coordinated messaging.

• Administer company-wide employee communication channels and manage content for all-hands and town-hall meetings.

• Collaborate with the People team to create employer-brand campaigns and materials; assess employee sentiment and engagement.

• Assist in leadership communications during periods of growth and transition.

• Lead, develop, and scale a global Corporate Communications team.

• Guide WEKA’s global PR agency expansion, strategy, and deliverables.

• Establish workflows, service-level agreements, templates, and prioritization frameworks for the communications function.

• Innovate communications operations utilizing AI-assisted monitoring, rapid response, measurement, and generative engine visibility initiatives.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in corporate communications, encompassing both external and internal communications, with a minimum of 3 years in leadership roles overseeing teams and agencies.

• Strong B2B technology background, preferably in AI, cloud, or data infrastructure; ability to articulate concepts related to GPUs, AI inference, and memory architectures.

• Player-coach leadership approach with direct experience in pitching, writing, and editing.

• Proven daily use and fluency with AI tools, demonstrating sound judgment regarding their applications and limitations in communications.

• Established success in building media relationships and executing PR campaigns with measurable results.

• Submission of writing samples, media coverage, and executive visibility placements is required.

• Understanding of generative engine optimization and the impact of earned media on LLM authority and AI-generated content.

• Experience in crisis and change communications under high-pressure scenarios.

• Strong editorial judgment with the ability to craft distinctive messaging.

• Proven achievements within globally growing companies in competitive, fast-paced technology sectors.

• Experience with category transitions or corporate repositioning is a plus.

• A blend of agency and in-house experience is preferred.
