Director, Corporate Accounting, Consolidation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish the strategic vision for Zillow’s accounting department.

• Direct company-wide accounting operations, encompassing the closing process, consolidation, and the preparation of both external and internal financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and relevant regulatory standards.

• Supervise accounting policies, internal controls, and processes that comply with SOX requirements.

• Collaborate with Finance, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and business leaders on intricate transactions and business initiatives.

• Assess and enhance accounting systems, integrations, and workflows.

• Create and oversee the structure, budget, and performance metrics of the accounting organization.

• Cultivate, mentor, and retain a high-performing accounting team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Over 12 years of progressive accounting experience.

• At least 5 years of experience leading accounting teams.

• Proven experience managing accounting closure, consolidation, and external reporting processes for a complex or rapidly growing organization.

• Experience in implementing or enhancing accounting systems, controls, and SOX-compliant processes.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Background in a public company environment and knowledge of SEC reporting requirements is preferred.

• Experience in technology, SaaS, or digital marketplace businesses is preferred.
